it goes far beyond just quality backlinks...
it is about site quality, on-page SEO, quality content....
many, many will enter the race, only a small few will win....

running a site for profit is simply not for everyone...
and most people just plain suck, and have no skills....
for most, their site failed the moment they put it up....

How do I find these sites? I use SEMRush for my backlinks analysis. But I am having a hard time finding websites that might link back to me.

I know that content quality is important, but initially I have to start the ball rolling by building links. I understand SEO very well and have read hundreds of articles. But I have not applied it. I just wanted to learn so I can hire a good SEOer. Now I wanna do it on my own, but I am facing a lot of problems. And one of them is finding a website to link to mine.

I have used SEMRush to find competitors backlinks but no luck. I couldn't find any website that allow me to build a link back to my site.

How do you find quality and relevant websites that can link back to your site?

When it comes to link building there is no limit but this will depend on the implementations of the practitioner on how his technique will connect to the users and related sites.

Back at my peak of using GSA SER I was knocking out around 5 million links per day spread over three tiers to a number of money sites but those days seem to be gone now. I probably push out 5-10 links per domain now spread over multiple pages but my stratergy has totally changed.

I would advise that you start your link building efforts slowly (maybe 5 a day) and build this up to maybe 20 a day over a few months - the golden rule is consistency. Get as many links from different sites and types of sites as possible that are related to your site. So if you can get a link from a directory related to a topic on your site then go for it. The more diversity you have in your link profile the more natural it will look.

Google won't give any importance to quantity. Try to build only quality link. Moreover, Google loves natural link.

I have been building links for over 10 year and noticed that Google has changed a lot during the last years that past by. One thing is for sure you have to create different links from many different sites to make them look natural. This can be a mix of good directory back-links, article submissions to high-quality sites and spread your links throughout the internet with different anchor tags. I got good results with only a few back-links to some sites and more links to more competitive websites. Think when building backlinks and choose the right tools is very important to stay in business.

It all depends on how old your site (domain) is. If he is 3-4, then you can leave 20-30 links a week. If your resource is not many years old, then 1-2 links per day - is quite acceptable.
If you happen to have a link explosion, Google can block your site (google penguin).
So if your site not old - your strategy is good!
    Good luck.

You should start slowly with 1-2 good links per day. After a few weeks you may increase the pace and build 15-20 links per week.

The number of links does not matter as long as you created a quality link. 1 quality backlink is more worth that having hundreds of poor quality backlinks.

That sounds easy, not! back in that day, you could create 5 links a day for $1
5 quality links per day may require a sizeable budget, however, finding sources
that you need will become much, much harder, as it would not be wise to use
the same backlink source over and over, as the link juice will dilute ie: less effective.

You can get an OK backlink for a mere $50 (non-niche), and I have seen costs
ranging from $100s well up to $1000 for a single backlink, and niche backlinks
will be very difficult as you have to track them down one by one....

If you are using some seo provider that does not provide any quality niche
backlinks, then I suggest you cut him lose, and run for the hills, or do not
get involved in SEO at all! Your backlinks are just as important as the
quality articles you are posting, otherwise, you should not be online....

I noticed some SEO providers have gotten wise; they are starting to
repackage their shitty backlinks, and call them Guest Posts, then
charge you 3-5 times higher from the same shit links they sold you previously....

The days of setting up a slap shot site are over....
The days of getting slap-shot backlinks are over....

a high quality single backlink is going to cost you $bucks$....
    (end of story....)

As long as they are quality links, as many as you can, the more the better.
