Hi so if I open a google page to access the search box it's OK, but then if I put something in there for example keyword 'cookies' it will navigate me to yahoo.. Is there a way around this without completely formating the drive? X

Did you try to manage your browser's search engines? If you're using Chrome, click on the burger menu in the upper right corner, then click Settings, from there you can manage your search engines. I assume it's kind of similar for all other browsers.

I've tried that, but it's the same, so when I open Chrome it opens fine, but to search anyghing it jumps into yahoo. I've put Chrome as default browser but it's linking itself to yahoo I don't know how to fix. Could be a virus but I don't want to restore my settings, I've also deleted chrome and re installed it, and same issues xx

I think you should try to disable all unwanted or strange plugins/addons on your Chrome, clear all cookies/caches and then restart again.

Have you tried cleaning your cache or cookies? Perhaps it could help.

Check your pc. Maybe some unwanted programs has been installed on your pc which is altering your browser behavior. You may also reset your browser.

The best solution/option is to get you PC/MAC to the factory settings. Restoring a computer to its factory settings will delete all personal files - Pictures, movies, music and all installed software applications or drivers that were not included in the original configuration of your PC. This way you will get rid of all bad stuff like malware etc. Hope this helps

Have you installed any freely downloaded software recently? then re-check once and uninstall it and try to re-install your browser.
Go to browser search settings and make Google as primary search engine.
