Why doesn't Google use the keywords meta tag?

    If meta keyword tag are not used in website ranking then Does this mean that Google ignores all meta tags?
    So, Where we can use the keywords ?

    Due to the fact that webmasters were keyword stuffing their meta keyword tags. And no it doesn't mean other meta tags are ignored.

    Who says the keyword metatag is not used? Nobody knows what Google's formula is. I believe however that it is used to some degree for ranking purposes but also for other uses so it's important. It also surely has evolved over the years. As pointed out, it doesn't mean that ALL metatags are ignored. Each have their purpose, if not ranking for other things.

    I have never heard about Google ignores all meta tags!?!? As far as I know, all bloggers(blogspot) that I have been using, meta tags are very significant to them.

    And I think meta tags are not only for robot, but they also concern the websites ranking.

    Google uses two techniqies for keywords, first it picks from your metatag and other is it create a list of relevant keywords from your content. So if you get on keyword other than metatag it does not mean its ignored actually google had grabbed it from your content.
