Hello, I am planning to move from posts based website to categories based one (the same website), and the categories will be set as the same posts that already exists. There will be no harm for SEO? Any suggestion? PS: the reason why I do that is that my website about jokes, and I see a lot of jokes websites based on categories, not posts. Now, I am planning to make a radical change in my website which is moving from posts into categories but at the same URLs. Does it affect my SEO? Thank you, I am eager to hear back from you. PS: All links will remain in the same URLs (permalinks).
Yes, it is safe. Because SEO mainly depends on the site map. Monetize your site. Make the site map search engine friendly and change post or categories as you wish.
I think it will not harm anything on your site. You just need to re-submit again your sitemap in GG Webmaster tool to let Google re-crawl your website structure.
Btw, I got thousands of URL errors - is that ok? And every time I fix some and I mark it as fixed on the Search Console..
Those errors are called 404 Not Found Error. That happens when you delete a page, post, category, images without redirecting it to the new one. The same thing happens when you change the permalink of your page and post. What you should do is redirect those to the new ones you create before you delete them, so whenever someone visit any of these, they will automatically be redirected to the new URL.
Yes, it is safe. It will not do any harm of your overall SEO. There is no relation of SEO and post category. So you can change post category anytime.
Absolutely. SEO relies on sitemap, which can be a document in any form. Just make sure your sitemap is SERP friendly and feel free to change posts to categories as you like.
