I keep battling with this decision on whether to build my sites via HTML or by Wordpress.
    1. Why do you prefer your choice?
    2. Which HTML tool are you using?
Thank you in advance for your input.

    I go for WordPress.
If you choose Html, can you answer just one of my questions?
And that of my question is, how are you going to do On-Site Search Engine Optimization to bring organic traffic to your website?

Personally, I would choose HTML (rather PHP) as I like to make things manually. I'm a Full Stack Developer by trade. However, if you don't have the time or willpower to learn HTML, CSS, Javascript, and some back-end language such as PHP or Node, then stick with Wordpress as there are an abundance of pre-made themes and plugins you can try. Very easy to customize as well.

Wordpress saves you a lot of time, so I'll go with that. But if you need more control over what you're working on, then manual coding using HTML would be better.

Markup language versus bloated CMS? No wonder the decision has been hard as you are basically trying to decide between rubber and a car. Regardless, only because you asked - go with Wordpress.

The question is inane, and shows lack of understanding and knowledge. First off, you cannot do the same with pure HTML as you can with Wordpress (databases, templating, functionality etc.) - however, you can build similar solutions using PHP / HTML / Javascript as Wordpress can do more or less out of the box.

The point is, if you need a site more or less like Wordpress, use Wordpress. If not, I would probably recommend custom-coding the page, or find other ready-made solutions that can fulfill your needs.

But there is no real difference in "use HTML, or use Wordpress" - Wordpress do use HTML, it displays the information output by the server-side files to the user using HTML, CSS and Javascript.

I'm working on a project where the budget is eye watering but the devs have spent 2 weeks creating the login page. ffs, how is that not a standard function. You might be able to to do the lot but recreating the wheel is a waste of client money.

If they spend two weeks creating a login-function/page, they either have crappy specs, or very little knowledge of what they're doing. It should take a day, at most - a few hours normally. That includes database, login, creating new users and more.

html surely allows you to do more fine tuning, to control every bit and you could spend weeks creating it comparing to days creating it on WP. But then, think about maintenance. You will hate it eventually.
Just go with WP, get a WP dedicated hosting, good caching plugin and you are done.

It depends on what your web application will do. If we know more about that then can give a better answer.

On my site, i use Wordpress + .php static pages (html) together.
The reason is: Wordpress is better for text content. Very easy to add new articles.
But also my site contain html5 games. And for this games i use static .php (html)
file. The reason is - speed. Speed is very important for seo. But my site in
very competitors niche (you may check it on my signature). So every factors
    is very important for me.

But in 99% another cases, wordpress is the optimal desision.

As a developer I prefer custom made web site, with HTML and other languages.
When you go for a simple script, who dont have much WP customizing knowledge get a custom made OR pre-built script which suits your need.

Just my Idea.. open for suggestions.

    Of course WordPress is best.
WordPress gives you more functionality rather than HTML.
Using WordPress you can do anything with your website compared with HTML.

WordPress is the best because in HTML you would have to create it by your own or use some template. It will have many problems like:
    1. updating HTML pages.
    2. Adding new pages.
    3. Adding links of new pages on menu.
    etc. etc.

For this you will need the knowledge of HTML and that too a good one.

Go for WordPress if you want to save yourself for these troubles. WordPress is a CMS (a tool ) for non - technical persons to make their own websites by there own.

Only for security reasons I will select HTML , wordpress needs regular update to keep it secure which most customers we have seen don't do.

Just reading this makes my eyes bleed... Wordpress is better than HTML? In what way? Wordpress is using HTML. Wordpress with HTML alone will make a very basic website. Add other languages to your HTML like CSS and JS and you will have a better site that Wordpress already.

The question that was raised by OP is a total noob question and starting out with Wordpress will only make your life super hard because you need knowledge of what you are doing with it. Learn HTML, CSS, JS and I should say PHP to understand what Wordpress does and you will not want to use it ever.

It's like comparing a screw driver to a piece of metal...
