Building a niche blog is definitely the best option. In this vast world of Internet, what's important is building your credibility, and you can't do that if you try to be everything to everyone. But with focusing on a single niche or two, you can share your expertise or interests to other people, be a known credible source on the niche, and eventually get good earnings!
It will depend more on your writing skills. If you write well and produce good content, then a niche blog would be profitable.
Don't limit yourself, go for a general blog. You can always stick this or that particular niche within your blog, if you want to.
Some people will say a niche blog, some people will say a general blog. If you're just looking to write an authority blog, a niche blog will be faster and easier. A general blog will take a LOT of work and a LOT of self-promotion. But there's more money to be made in a general niche like internet marketing, dating, health and dog training. So if you're building a list and driving traffic to your squeeze page through non-SEO methods, a general niche is the way to go.
Niche blogs are highly effective way to make some cash from your blog. I would prefer Niche blogs over general blogs. Niche blog helps you to get targeted audience and improve your conversion rates.
Having a niche blog is always better than just doing bits of everything in my opinion. You need to focus on one topic because those that are really interested in that topic will continue to visit as long as the content is good. My advice is to get some really good content on there and reach out to like minded bloggers and ask them if they would like to do a guest post an you can offer to do the same, this will increase your traffic, your contacts and open up future potential business ventures.
Creating a niche blog can be financially a very good decision. Also, you can work on a topic you like and you feel passionate about. For me it is an absolute dream Job!
It's a great way to build up passive income that eventually earns money with little effort. In the early stages you have to put in a lot of writing and content creating, which is ok if you are passionate about the subject. If you are just doing it to build a following/income you can outsource the articles and content in order to rank higher on google and increase traffic. Once you are on page 1 of google it is easier to maintain than it is to climb!
Going for a general blog gives you a broader audience and if you're serious about blogging (generating income from it), you should opt for a niche blog or a number of blogs focusing on different niches.
I would go for the niche blog. That way you have a clearly defined audience that you can serve well. This is much better than having a broad audience that you can't serve very well.
For me, I'd go for the niche blog instead. It would be easier that way because you'd have a targeted market/audience.
Disagree mate. Niche marketing is where it's at. It is extremely difficult to monetize non-targeted traffic.
A good idea...if you have the time and the resources. Building a blog... Is a long time and very tedious process. It does not happen overnight. Plus, it takes a lot of skills. Do you have the skills and the time? Best wishes and regards.
