Need help in receiving a payment

Discussion in 'Payment Processing' started by duzap, Apr 14, 2017.

I need to receive a one-time payment from a company based in the U.S.
They say they can only transfer the money through a wire transfer (EFT - electronic funds transfer) to a bank from the U.S.

Now I am not a citizen of USA and I am not living there as well. Is there any service known to you that can help me receive this payment? I have a Payoneer account, but they only receive direct deposit transfers and not wire transfers.

Any help will be appreciated. Thank you!

Wire transfer fees can be crazy high.

Why can't they do Western Union?

not my place, but it sounds like a scam. If they hired you, they would have agreed to pay you via your preferred payment method.
payoneer, paypal, worldremit, westernunion... are all normal payment methods for freelancers. I have never heard of this bank to bank BS.

Seriously, the only possible reason why there is a problem, is if they do not want to pay you.

    Here is the solution:

    Wire Transfers

    Available for all Escrow.com transactions
    Source: https://www.escrow.com/support/payment-options

Now, if they tell you that all of the US has no internet, or no power, and they cannot pay you, then you know its BS.

There is a minimum $25 fee for using escrow, fees are not your problem, if they refuse to pay via your preferred method, then they can pay the associated fees and costs.

Assuming OP wants to receive payment in his local currency, they could use TransferWise to avoid the bank charges? I'm sure there are a few other services like it as well, but I can't remember names.

We too use transfer wire for all our contractors that can't accept paypal, works great most of the time.
