"as part of my training" - you're doing a course? demand your fees back because no decent tutor would let you select "making money online" as your niche.

Start over and pick a niche in which you are already competent. Let's say you used to be an electrician. Cash in on that expertise and find products where you can give a meaningful review and a wee story about your experiences with that kind of product.

Dreadful niche - ok, I guess for training, but not for serious money making.

Im sorry to hear that :( If you can't find any luck on JVZoo, then try CJAffiliate or Clickbank. It would also help if you read more learning materials that will really help you become an Internet marketer.

sarahk gave you some great advice. Making money online is not a good niche, especially for a newbie. It's also way too broad. If you insist on staying in that niche you'll need to dig way down. Say you decide to market products in the traffic generation area. You still want to dig deeper. What technique of traffic generation will you dig into? There are many of them, and you can't possibly take them all on at one time.

Where are you getting this training from? Because as sarahk implied - it looks like you are getting scammed.

Not sure I understand how you aren't finding products on JVzoo though. But you can also take a look at Clickbank.

The original poster specified "in Internet Marketing, as part of my training I have to find some products to promote." The training assignment is to learn how to find product to promote. If he were to hire an expert to find the product for him he wouldn't learn anything.

As a total beginner you should probably pick a different niche.
One that you have some knowledge in.
There are products to promote in practically every market. Just look into amazon.

There are a huge number of product sources Ben. Amazon & eBay are certainly two good ones.

The most profitable source comes from yourself. You make 100% of the profit when you sell a product you create.

At Amazon, eBay, Commission Junction - just to name a few - you can sell a physical product as an affiliate. You can also find product to buy at wholesale prices and sell those on eBay, Amazon, and your own websites. Dropshipping is an option also.

For digital product, there's Clickbank and JVZoo at the most popular sources. You can get product with private label rights (PLR), re-write or re-create it, and sell it as your own product.

As you can see there are a bunch of options. You just need to decide which ones best suit your marketing plan.

Keep in mind that there's a big world outside of MMO and even selling products.

Not to go off the rails from your original question, however...

For the past 16+ years, about 90%-95% of what I have been promoting has been PPL (pay per lead...lead generation) offers. This is because there is no credit card / purchase required to complete an offer. All a user has to do is fill out a form, so conversion rates are typically much higher than offers that require a sale to be made.

Outside of PPL offers, I also promote free sign ups (dating for example), free trials + s&h (weight loss is pretty good) and a very small number of offers that require a purchase. The common denominator of everything that I do is the offer has to have mass appeal...is likely to be of interest to a very large general audience.

I favor PPL offers that have a make, get or save money benefit to them, as they have overall worked the best for me and they tend to have the greatest mass appeal. So the potential to generate large volume exists and it's fairly easy to cross promote them on the back-end.

The bulk of the PPL offers that I promote pay $20-$40, but there are many offers that pay more and less. One thing to understand is that it's not all about the payout. How well an offer converts is just as important and sometimes more. You could have an offer that pays$9 and if it converts at 2X+ of a $20 offer, they will perform about the same or possibly even better. At the same time you could have an offer that pays $90 and if it converts poorly, it may not even be worth running.

Some of the verticals that I have done very well with are: insurance, mortgage, credit, debt, loans, education, assistance, discount offers, homeowners offers, etc...

Everything I promote is about mass appeal and the path of least resistance to generating conversions / $$$. It is far easier to get someone fill out a short form than to get them to pull out their credit card and make a purchase. So why struggle with trying to sell this or that, when you can provide free information that users want/need and get paid well doing it.

The online lead generation is a multi-billion dollar industry. Done right it can be far more profitable than many imagine. Everyone that I know that is in the business and knows what they are doing, for the most part, does 6-7 figures. While that's a huge range, much comes to one's ability to scale and effectively build / manage the infrastructure needed to scale.

    Something to think about.

What niche are you most interested in? Is this the only niche that's on your list? I suggest you explore and decide based on what your passion is, how good you are with it, how willing you'd like to put an effort to make it work, etc.

Making money online is very broad; basically, it's not even a niche, as just about almost any business online has that aim. Ask if you could have that narrowed down, or else turn to your interests and see how they can be turned to make profit. The best products are the ones that you are most likely to have an interest with in the first place.

I fully agree with all those saying "Making Money Online" is too broad and way too competitive to start at. In most cases new guys are usually eaten by the big fish, because all the competitors are internet marketers themselves.
For example, let's say the product costs $40 and you get $20 commissions (50%):
    • If you want to promote using PPC Ads (AdWords) -
      • there are SO MANY affiliates who will outbid one another till conversions will cost much more than $20
      • There are SO MANY vendors who can outbid you, as they have the full $40 to play with (not to mention thousands and thousands of pricier products)
      • And those with experience will make less mistakes and convert much better, so they require less clicks than you and can offer more.
      • The only kwyeords that don't cost much are those that either don't pull traffic (so they don't help you) or traffic that doesn't convert well (so you pay without earning)
      • Bottom line - newcomers usually lose money bidding on PPC in this category.
    • If you want to use SEO -
      • Extremely hard to reach even Google's 10th page (which is useless) on any meaningful keyword
      • Only keywords you can rank for are those that don't pull much traffic, so you spend a LOT of effort working while gaining nothing.
    • And even if you get visitors to your site or offer - with SO MANY established marketers available, why should they buy through a newcomer.
Around 2.5 MILLION new websites are added EACH DAY, so it's easy to drown here.
I suggest trying in a niche field that you like. Don't try a wide niche (like autos, music, guitars etc.) as they too are overcrowded. Look for a smaller niche where you can get a chance to shine and margins large enough to afford a few mistakes as you learn. A few examples are less-popular hobbies such as knitting and embroidery, or niches-within-niches ("gingerbread recipes", NOT "recipes" or "baking").

If you have any specific questions don't hesitate to ask. I remember starting off myself years ago - and help I received from a few established marketers (including on this forum) made all the difference.

    Good luck!

    Brad
