LOL, yes, I am older than dirt and remember seeing it in the early 1980's after it was released on VHS tape. I rented it and it played on a VHS player. I really liked the storyline in which a small group of remaining humans barricaded themselves in a shopping mall while zombies kept trying to break in and eat them. They had all the food and other necessary supplies that they might need in the mall and I often thought that should the zombie apocalypse ever hit, I would head to the nearest mall like they did.
I have seen Dawn of the Dead which was released on 2004. http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0363547/ The story line seems same. Now it's time to watch the classic one you recommended.
You know, I have never watched the newer version, though I really should. Thanks for the reminder about it!
I'm not a big fan of zombies, but I've always liked the one that started it all: Night of the Living Dead. Just recently I watched Train to Busan and loved it as well.
If you liked the original Night of the Living Dead, you should also check out the sequel, Dawn of the Dead which came out a year or two after the first one, I believe. Long time ago, of course.
