Now is this quoted rate primarily for the purpose of entertaining the "native writers" as a joke or for insulting their trade?
I was going to say, OP might have to dig a little deeper into that wallet of his if he wants a decent 'native writer'. We need to pay rent and eat too, ya know?
It's the same stupid thing every time. Someone comes and makes a thread offering peanuts, and then hopes that the writers would jump through hoops just so that they can get the "high paying/decent pay" job. It's a simple thing, if you lower the rate, lower your expectations too. This kind of rate is insulting to any writer, irrespective of being native/non-native. When will the clients learn that quality is king?
The thing is, I think most people forget that we writers have to pay a PayPal fee and for currency exchange when UK-based like me and @pianogirl. At $0.4/100 words we'd have nothing left!
Anyone paying less than $1 per 100 words is middlemanning. They're charging their client twice as much if not more. They get the idea of these low wage solicitations from those WSOs or get-rich-with-Google News Sites programs that tell them they can get cheap writers at Digital Point. Then they find some sucker to do the job, get crap quality, and then booted from Google for backlinking and crappy work.
Like someone else said further down the thread, he is only acting like a middle man. He will get paid top dollars from his clients. While only shelling out a few pennies to get the job done.
If you think this offer is crap, I got offered $1/1000 words just now. The content creation world is going tits up.
