I wonder if anyone on here has any advice or statistics for me regarding the best time of day to send out emails to your list subscribers. I once heard someone say that 4 o'clock in the afternoon is the best time, but no real reasoning was given for that. So, I'm running four different campaigns right now, and I've got those emails going out at all different times of the day. Any solid advice for me?
In my experience, the latter half of the day is best for email campaigns to be sent out to the subscriber list. For me, it works best and I have the highest opens between 3 pm local time and 6 pm.
I have some data that is being sent 24/7 non-stop 365 days per year. Monday - Thursday tends to produce the highest clicks / conversions. 8am-2pm EST and 7pm-11pm EST is when the bulk comes in. Friday is usually the worst day, the weekends can be OK. Mondays I will "usually" get a pop from those that didn't see the mail Fri-Sun and see it on Monday. * The ideal time to send to users is the same time that they subscribed. The above data stats is for purchased 3rd party data. So that option isn't really possible. But it provides an insight into the times that users are the most responsive.
So, to drill down a little further ... if that's okay with you ... what day is best between Monday and Thursday? When do you recommend I send my emails?
I would test. On any given day, probably 50% of my traffic is from mail sent a previous day. If I was to abruptly stop sending, I will continue to get traffic for a good 2-3 days (can vary, but usually 3) and then it will start to "drastically" fall off. Also, I added the following to my original post. The ideal time to send to users is the same time that they subscribed. The above data stats is for purchased 3rd party data. So that option isn't really possible. But it provides an insight into the times that users are the most responsive.
It really depends on the list and clients, but Friday is definitely not a good day and Monday is probably not good if you you are sending in news pieces. I personally do not have good respond on Wednesdays either, we pinned down our best time by testing within a 5 months period and Tuesday Morning was the best converting time for us.
I'd think that on weekdays mid-late afternoon would be good to catch people who are getting bored with their work and decide to slack off and check their email, those who don't then probably will catch it later in the evening or early the next morning. I also heard that ransomeware scammers have the most luck at either 11:00 AM or 2:00 PM, just the right time to catch people off guard, although I believe most of their targets are businesses and not people's personal emails.
I send out emails twice a week, every Tuesday and Friday. I send them around 4-5pm, and glad I get more response when I follow this schedule. I tend to avoid sending out emails on the weekends (except when I'm promoting a good limited deal) since it's people's time to unwind and think less of work. Well, this works best for me! How about you? What results did you get from your campaigns?
generally, its all depends on the domain you are targeting for example, if you are targeting kids - i recommend to shoot them on weekends for typical business (professional) Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday - as per MailChimp stats Anyway, i recommend you to do a trail run and analyze which time/day suits you more.
The most suitable days for emailing of any subject: Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. That is, the middle of the week, when the hard Monday has already ended, and until the weekend is still far away. But one should be cautious with Tuesday and Thursday, when, according to statistics, people get the most number of e-mails. Friday (especially in the morning) is the most favorable day for letters advertising entertainment events. And for business letters, the best day is Tuesday. On this day the person is full of strength and energy to start a new business.
I'm definitely seeing better results during the week than on the weekends. Having the same experience as you.
I guess it depends on what you're promoting. I send my offers on Sunday morning, since most people start getting back to their internet marketing jobs on Sunday evening. Currently, I see this pattern when it comes to my users, so it only makes sense to send it out on Sunday:
