newsletter mailing program or service?

Okay, well I recently started a site: http://www.Lucidly.com . I recently promoted the subscriptions (just in my own forum on the site), and I've got about 10 signups in a few days. Pretty soon I'll have to upgrade to a paid plan with where I am and they are too expensive. What I am looking for:

-at least 500 emails per month for under $50/mo
-the ability to setup a system so subscriptions are processed manually, even if that just means to change my email form so it emails the mail service/program a code Subscribe123 or something so it is setup like that, i don't know
-custom html allowed, not having to use a template

Anyone know of any like this?

    FREE Account here: http://www.getresponse.com/

I'm on every bodys mailing list and at least 25% use getresponse cause its free, and yes they have a paid account that has more options, but this will get you started on a budget.

Heres to your success! :p ,

Do any of these offer integration solutions so I don't have to process subscriptions manually?

Mobilizemail does and even lets you put a subscription form promotion on your site. It's all very easy and professional.

Would they let me create something and define the fields, for example if I wanted:

    Email:
    Name:
    Address:
    City:
    State:
    Zip:
    Additional Information:
    [SUBMIT]

They could do that so I set it up however it would be on my site, and then when a visitor fills it out and hits "Submit" it automatically signs them up for the newsletter and logs that information in the mobilizemail admin panel? Is that something I could do?

Yes, getresponse gives you the form code to place on your page for your prospects to fill out, then provides a double opt-in to protect you from spam complaints.

I use http://www.phplist.com/ and it's quite powerful and full of features and it's template-able. It took about 30 mins to get used to the interface and after that it was okay.

At present the form would be initiated on your site, completed on their site and then you'd go back to your site... but other arrangements can be made.

No problem with whatever fields you need.

Check out PropertyTalk NZ for an example. Scroll down the page and on the left there is a form for "Company Solutions". In this case they don't want any more than the name and email so you fill in the form, get a response and you're done. You never leave the PT website or go to the MM website - yet you've just signed up for another company altogether.

So right now mobilize mail would be like how you pay with paypal? Initiated on my site and then you go through the paypal stuff, and then you return to my site at the end, only with the newsletter subscription?

What about property talk, how exactly do they do it?

I know you described both of these in your last post but I am just trying to verify and get a more detailed description.

Oh now I understand, you were referring to property talk's newsletter. Which service do they use? Do you know?

The propertytalk newsletter (top right) and and company solutions (way down, left) are both run through mobilize mail. PropertyTalk own MobilizeMail but Company Solutions are an actual client. I was trying to point you to a real life example :)

And yes, it's like the paypal situation.

BTW: I work for them, freelance, I don't own the company.

In your folks' opinion which is the best for automated subscriptions, AND integration into the site?

This is assuming that they allow custom html for the mailings (aka custom templates created by me).

Every system should give you customised templates - that's a key requirement!

Another one to look at is Oi!

You can getresponse for free...only for a limited number of emails....

I personally use Mailman that is intalled on my server. It does not have any of those great features of stats or more...but is free, simple to add or use and powerfull...

    I send daily to 8000 emails...without problems.

Are subscriptions integrated into your site and automatically logged in the server? Also, can you send custom html emails?
