Help: Placing ad code before the closing "</body>" tag?

Hi, I'm a beginner to Wordpress. I've been sent an ad code to place on my website with the instructions as 'Place the script tag below just before the closing "</body>" tag'.

I was told by a friend that the body tag is found in the theme footer. I placed the ad code beofe the tag and it isn't showing.

Can anyone with a better knowledge explain what I need to do please?

I sent you a message back. How did you open your theme footer? Did you click on the footer link in your sidebar?

Looks like you also need to place your code above the </footer> tag.
