What to do? Once my cat goes to freedom it dissapears somewhere. In a late evening it gets back somehow dirty as hell, and its happening everytime. I would like to track him, what solution would be to track its coordinates. we live far away from roads, streets so simple GPS road tracker is not convenient.
A specialized gps tracker is the way to go: http://www.pettracker.com/ The app will allow you to customize the map to know exactly where the pet is.
If you do end up attaching a GPS or some other tracking device, let us know what you learn. My guess is he is having a lot of fun.
There are lots of pet trackers around now, saw one yesterday called whistler or whistle - for dogs and a bit too big and clunky for cats but they will get smaller over time. A girlfriend used her miCoach to find out which part of the fence her dog was using to escape. It wasn't wildly accurate but it helped. I've put my garmin forerunner on my dog when I take him mountain biking so I can see how much more he runs compared to us, surprisingly little given that he hares off into the bush constantly. So long as your cat is safe, happy and does return I wouldn't fret too much over what he gets up to.
Why do you think that simple GPS road tracker is not convenient for this case? Every tracker locks a location nevermind is there any streets or no.
I guess it depends on what you call a "simple gps road tracker". We have on in a work vehicle but it's so simple it doesn't have a battery and relies on the car's battery Others need recharging Some have a limited life and can't be recharged Some transmit through the 2G/3G/4G networks Some have to be retrieved and synced to another device Some take a reading every second Some take a reading every minute
Is it possible to establisht this app in browser, make it extension for chrome? It'll very nice, you surfering in inet and in the right conor you can looking your pet location.\thank you
Hello. I'll try my two cents. Well here it starts the real options and abilities of these pet trackers. There is a lot of them, but most of these apps lack of features. For example, you have asked about ability to establish tracker map reporting in browser. To make it happen your application need to have additional gps tracking server. This is additional costs to the service, and no one want to have these costs to handle. Also, there is an option to have this feature on your own. First of all. If your tracking service do not have this feature, you need to get it from third part. This is not a problem, because a lot of trackers are compatible with third party gps tracking. Also you have to subscribe to gps server services. This a small problem because there is only a couple providers (i've tested only gps server by gps wox) Also there is gps-server company. These service providers can integrate your tracker to them tracking service and server. And the other step is to integrate their gps server information to your desired browser extension and so on.
In short - No. Most of the tracker do have only an app to lock for your tracker on a smartphone I've been working on a transportation fleet and supervisors do use professional tracking services to get real and live reporting. I've had some instructions about that As far as I know there is only a couple that have multiple reporting options. One I know is mobile phone tracker, it could be used with a pet tracker also. But have to repeat once again. To get a reporting to as an extention in a browser there is only a payable subscribtion plans to use..
