Trump's inauguration ceremony had one of the largest crowds ever

You will see these bogus photos posted on social media of how, supposedly, small Trump's crowds were compared to Obama's inauguration. It's all bogus, biased and fake. Someone took Trump's inauguration photos while people were still gathering and compared them to Obama's actual ceremony. This is the actual crowd at Trump's inauguration:

I was more amused, the night before, by the "crumbling USA" fireworks and the fact that Melania couldn't be bothered clapping

I didn't see it live, but I saw pics and it was funny. The letters looked more like USR (US of Russia).

I just looked at the clip he added to a tweet.

Seems he's fed up with the 140 character limit in twitter and has shifted his focus to facebook. Twitter won't be happy as their page impression count plummets.

I don't think he'll switch to FB. Twitter is Trump's main announcement board. I honestly think he needs to start his own media company. It's guaranteed to take off.

If you want to know how the next 4-8 years are going to go, you need only look back to the Reagan years. The lamestream media keeps to the same tired playbook (it is all that they know.) The good news is that Trump calls them on it and has his Twitter account to call out their lies and misrepresentations. That, and the fact that many citizens are finally catching on to the deception and lies from the leftists/lamestream media as evidenced by Trump's victory against all odds, are what bodes well for the USA (or USR as the case may be.)

As a lifelong conservative, it is hard for me to really enjoy this victory because I know how sleazy, anti-American, and corrupt the left is here and I know what is coming in terms of lies, distortions, constant whining, etc. My hope (though it is a longshot) is that Trump can seriously wound the lamestream media (it should not be hard to put the NYT out of business since they are already failing, e.g.) and put an end to 90% of the fake news that they live by.

One of the refreshing things about this new administration is that they are not politicians at all. Politicians robotically stand, clap, pronounce platitudes and other perform other programmed tricks of the trade (and they are all tricks/affectations meant for consumption by the masses.) It is clear that Melania has little interest in the political theater and grandstanding expected from political wives; heck, she is not even moving into the White House.

I think you give too much credit to the mainsteam media. I don't know if you watched / listened to the first press conference today, but Sean Spicer, the new White House spokesman, kept the media's feet to the fire. I mean he didn't let them get away with any fake news related questions. I think that's the type of people Trump has surrounded himself with. No more slack or free pass to the media.

Perhaps, but if I am giving too much credit to them it is because of the damage that I have watched them inflict on the conservative cause since I first started following politics in the 1970's. The times, they are a-changing, but it cannot happen soon enough for me. I am THRILLED with how Trump is continuing to take it to them, of course.

I'm amused that he needs to tweet that he's going to be busy - did he think this was going to be a cakewalk?

@sarahk I believe he's tweeting to the people like myself who voted for him. He made a few promises while campaigning as to what was going to happen in the first few days of his presidency. He's simply telling his supporters that he's doing what he said he was going to do. I don't think he's tweeting for self-aggrandizing as some fake news media outlets have been suggesting.

OMG have you read his tweets, though? It's really not becoming to be so focussed on public adoration. I view it all as an outsider, and hell, I'm right wing. I get the need for a change and for a non-politician but I'll never understand your country choosing him.

I know it's hard to understand. The country is still divided. I believe time will show it more clearly why so many Americans voted for him. The economy started to improve while he was the president-elect. It continues to improve. The answer was, is and will be: we need to put America and the American people first. That's been his agenda from the get-go.

    Does that include you?

Do you think you'd still be able to emigrate to the US under his rules?

I believe I'd still be able to. My immigration process started in 1998 and I became a citizen in 2011. It took 13 years. That's how it's done. Or should be done. Granted, not everybody should wait 13 years, but there should not be an easy pass given to anyone (with a few exceptions).

The trouble with the lamestream media is that their lies and distortions promulgate around the world and they are still successful in their desire to paint conservatives as evil, money-grubbing, war-mongering (pick whatever nasty caricatures you desire) people. Take immigration, for example. Conservatives (and Trump) are NOT against legal immigration; we all recognize that we are a nation of (legal) immigrants and that it is part of our strength that we continue to allow in a wide variety of cultures, experiences, etc. However, because conservatives want to stop ILLEGAL immigrants (and also prevent terrorists) from entering our country without restriction (as all other countries do,) the lamestream media fake news paints us (and Trump) as anti-immigration. Since they still control way too much print space and air space in the media, their fake news is still believed by a lot of people who don't dig deeper into the facts.

@qwikad.com did it right by coming here legally. People who break our immigration laws and sneak into the country to jump the line or for whatever other reason are criminals, by definition, and do not deserve any sympathy or rights. They should go home and apply to come in legally. Yes, it is hard, but it is probably worth the effort and time.

Millions of people in USA will see their fate been ruined over coming years with many thrown out of the country, pollution increasing, early death in cities like New York, global temp rising faster than ever. Fights over real estates heating up, developing countries from South Asia seeing billions squeezed out of their economy.
Fresh Federal lockers opened to accommodate increased rate with several Kgs of drugs from old Federal Lockers moved to newly build. A crash of IT, mobile, computer and BPO sector worldwide.
These are the above things I see that will happen to the people of USA same as Modi did to people of India. Now Modi wants to eliminate Muslims or reduce their population in India. Will be ranked as one of the toughest dictators in India and not a politician everyone claims about him.

I think I got it. Trump wants to defund the mainstream media. Obviously he can't do this with an executive order, but he'll continue his assault on them (like in that tweet from yesterday) which, in turn, will make the advertisers start bailing out on them one by one.

Just think about it, large manufacturers (who spend an enormous amount on TV ads) are now given the green light to build / make / produce right here in the US without the fear of being heavily taxed and / or targeted by the environmental regulations. They will benefit tremendously from that. If the media doesn't change its narrative regarding this administration there will arise a huge conflict of interest between the manufacturers and them, since the manufacturers' loyalty now will be to Trump. Add the ever diminishing viewership to this and you can see where it's all going.

The media is not going away any time soon. It just would be a refreshing thing, for the first time in decades, to have a more fair media and to have the fake news lamestream media diminished. Their domination over the past several decades has not helped anyone as evidenced by the unemployment situation, inner city decay, etc., etc., that have only worsened under their hero, Obama, the anti-American socialist.
