My yahoo mail account deactivated, and why is that?

Discussion in 'Yahoo' started by maverick, Dec 13, 2006.

This is toooo much. Yahoo deactivated one of my mail accounts straight away few hours back. When I say few hours back, means I was using that account regularly. When I tried to use forgot password feature, I came to know about this. What they have to say is -

Cummon guys, I do have many personal contacts in there and many mails, I could not even take the back up of the contacts.. This is really pain in my a$$ ...

Does anyone by any chance know the work around or whom to contact?

You won’t get it back. It is permanent and they will not tell you the reason. By chance do you have any domains or hosting with yahoo tied to that login?

I had one that I used for years, same thing one day gone. Turned out to be a violation of their TOS with one of my domains, they never would tell my why.

Oh really.. thank god.. I fortunately don't have any web hosting associated with that account.. but this is very insecure.. the other yahoo account, I am using since so many years, if that gets deleted, I would literally lose a lot.. Now this is called shiver in spine.. Ha!

Thats very painful problem....by that we can loose a lot of our details or any necessary things in there.

But how can they just deactivate the mail id like that.
have you done any spam work from that yahoo id like sending email spams..etc like that....

That could be a reason... And even if you don't, someone could just use it in a php script to send emails, although the "header" information would verify that.
    Bye :)

Well Yahoo surely helps its users with their problems. Here's a case of a lost Yahoo Mail password. Yahoo finally provided the guy with the new password. The user is happy with the new password. He had a loads of old memory stuff in that mail.

If you can provide me a more detailed description of your problem or if you can send me the complete email that you received, I will surely be able to help you! I hav some friends working in Yahoo! email support and I surely can take their advice on this matter and ask them what would be the possible reason for this and any solution to this problem! :)

And I m sorry but I m not sure in which email account u received this email! (Was it the one which was deactivated?)

You can contact Yahoo! support and they will tell you the reason for this problem. I have heard about this problem before but I don't remember the solution! Best of luck! :)

I am facing a serious problem with the ID I normally use. I was logged into my Yahoo! mail account for quite a while until I saw the "session timeout" message. I clicked on "Sign in again" but now the account doesn't accept my password. I didn't change my password. Nor did I sign out.

Anyway, I went to "Forgot Password" but it keeps saying that it doesn't have enough information to recover the password for my account.

Then I went to another form for password recovery and entered my date of birth, postal code, country etc. and my Yahoo! ID. When I submitted the form it said "This account has been deactivated".

Any emails being sent to the address are being returned! The message says:

    <MYYAHOOID@yahoo.com>:
216.39.53.1 failed after I sent the message.
Remote host said: 554 delivery error: dd This user doesn't have a
    yahoo.com account (MYYAHOOID@yahoo.com) [-5] -
    mta383.mail.re4.yahoo.com

I just called Yahoo! Customer Service and after my account verification, they said they cannot activate my Yahoo! account because it has been closed due to some violation of the TOS.

I've now written to and am waiting for a response from them.

I have NO idea what that violation might be! I hope it can be activated again and my emails are not lost? I REALLY REALLY need to get my account back! I am a freelance web developer and I regularly receive emails from my clients. I've been a STAUNCH Yahoo! user for more than 6 years now. They deactivated the account without warning and I have a lot of data and contacts in there that I need.

    Any suggestions or similar experiences?

Deactivating emails wasn't a issue before.
But lately many persons are facing this problem.
Maybe its because yahoo is facing some security threat
