Can the .life domain get traffic?

    Hi All,

    I wanted the domain meaning of life - that's what the blog is about. Life under the big ideas that shape our lives capitalism, consumerism and romanticism. www.meaningoflife.life

    .com was available for $32,000.

    .life cost me $32.

    Is it possible to build a sustainable blog using .life though? Even with branding like "where about life not business .life not .com"

    Thoughts appreciated.

    life is in the domain name, so i don't know why you would think it would be a good idea to also have it in the extension.

    to answer your question any extension can get traffic.

    I'd say a better combo would be MeaningOf.life. That way of making domain names seems to be trendy nowadays. Note, as far as SEO is concerned, I don't see any reason a .life wouldn't rank as well as any other general domain extension.

    I'm with Jasontn, I'd have done meaningof.life (although it's likely a premium domain name). We recently bought a .life domain that will be launched late in Q2 of 2017 and we don't imagine any issues pushing traffic to it. Social drives the world now and nobody even looks at domain names on social anymore.

    It can rank and get traffic just like any other extension. The hardest part with extensions like .LIFE is getting people to remember them. People are so used to typing websites in with the .COM at the end. Anyways, if you can get past that there is no reason your .LIFE website can still rank and get traffic...

    if you can make it meaningod.life in this way it may be found when searching for general phrase.. I think it is nice to use different TLD's that we are used to, but of course .com is still the king in the filed :)
