Subdomain website

    Hi Guy,
    I am a newbie, I have a main website: reviewbynovle.com. Then, with each products I will create subdomain link to this website such as productlaunch.reviewbynovle.com. In the future, I will sell healthy product like heathyfood.reviewbynovle.com.

    So ... using subdomain will bad effect to ranking of main website and sub website or not?
    Or I should buy new individual domain for each my product?
    With subdomain, how to SEO effective to get high ranking for both sub & main website.

    Hi there

    First of all - using subdomains has no bad effect.
    Even if your "rankingpower" from maindomain gets a little bit into your subdomain, the best case is building subfolders: reviewbynovle.com/heathyfood (If possible and logical).
    You will get more "rankingpower" through your whole site AND you will get more power out of backlinks pointing to your website, as your whole site is really just one site (without subdomaining).

    Hi Peterstein,
    Thank you about your advice, subdomain is benefited if main domain have a good ranking.
    But I wondered that which is more attractive users and make them trust, subdomains or subfolders?
    And which have more Conversion Rate for SEO?

    This depends on your layout and how the user will use and think about it.
    Best way for you: Do it, let user test ist, get feedback, optimize it, let user test it, get feedback and so on.
    This will ensure a good trust and conversion rate :)

    I would also prefer sub folders. Sub-domains is like individual domain for Google. Only a tiny of page rank flow through sub-domain. While sub folders are good in terms of SEO value of overall domain. For user and conversion thing, I think it won't make much of the difference.

    1. sub-domain will be treated as a new domain altogether. a sub-page (example.com/sub-page) in better in obtaining some "rank power" from the main domain.

    2. For optimum SEO, ALL money-making page, whether sub-page or sub-domain, have to be SEO.

    3. Good thing about sub-domain is that it will not get penalized by any blackhat activities done in the main website.
