    Blogging is not created solely for backlinking purpose but for your target audience then backlinks will follow.

    So I get that part, but if I know my target audience for the most part, how do I get those back links to my website?

    If your target audience trusted your blog site and established your name then those users can share your site in their networks in which will attract other people to link into your blog site.

    You have to add value to whomever may link to you. Unless you can add value, in some fashion to the people who you want to link to you, you are in for a long haul.
