When you see Taj Mahal on TV or a pic of it or something you may not find it as interesting, but hey when you are in front of it in reality... God... its such an awesome structure that you can almost feel the vibes of love from that building

What about the great Indian dancing? I live in a small Caribbean island (but I am not from here) where there is a big East Indian population (Indian descendants), I would say around 45% of the population is East Indian, I always enjoy a nice curry chicken with some roti. INDIAN WOMEN CAN COOK SO GOOD! Recently, a couple of them taught me a couple of Indian dishes. I really enjoy Diwali and take my kids to see all the lights around the neighborhood, did I mention I LOVE the food? :D

Thats awesome to know that you love Diwali! Yeah when Diwali comes and you go to some place inside a city in India, you will see soo may lights and firecrackers and the ones that go in the sky and blast off, its just awesome.

Everyone is happy, shops are giving discounts, some people are so happy that they actually sponsor sweet shops for a day or two (when sweetmeat sales are extraordinarily high) and everyone who comes gets free sweets

Oh and yes, India has excellent regional dances.

I also went to a couple of Indian weddings, I am not very keen about eating with my hands though...I need to have my fork at all times, I wonder if that's consider an insult in India? Here most people eat Indian foods with their right hand and they are really good at it, but I prefer utensils although I have eaten with my hands after seeing everybody doing it. *shrugs*

Now I have a couple of questions that I wanted to ask for a long time...hope nobody minds answering them. I have seen several Bollywood films where the main actress does not look 100% Indian but a mix of races (European mainly) How do Indians feel in general about that? Do they feel these women are a good representation of their country?

Eating food with hands: Its not considered as an insult if you don't eat with your hands, but most of the Indian food is made in a way that you can't eat it with a fork or with some kinda spoon. So people use their hands, its just like Chinese use chopsticks.

Bollywood films: Yeah there are some actresses that don't really look Indian, but Indian people don't approve of them anyways. They like to see 100% Indian Actresses.

Caste System and Arranged marriages: Caste marriages are not enforced anymore, people are more open minded. Arranged marriages on the other hand yes, Arranged marriages are widely done here, but only if the girl likes the boy and the boy likes the girl, also, after their engagement, its not considered a wrong thing for the boy and girl to understand each other well before marriage these days, in fact, sometimes people break up after engagements and don't marry afterall, but thats considered no problem.

I'm not really sure what is the reason why India is the best. But I think I know two words that might be the answer: "Kama Sutra" :D They're popular for it.

    Why I Like India:

    Amazing culture and heritage
    - what with all those traditonal dresses including sarees, lehenga, sherwanis etc

Indians traditionally take a shower/bath every day - From thousands of years we have this cleanliness habit of taking a bath each day, some of us do it twice a day.

India Produces the Largest No. of Films: India produces more than 1000 feature length films in the world (more than Hollywood and Europe combined together)

    The World's Largest Democracy
The Most Secular Country - Which country can be more secular...even though its a hindu majority country, we currently have a Muslim President, a Sikh prime Minister and a Christian Defence Minister!!

Amazing Food - In the UK, Chicken Tikka and curry have sweeped the nation, and Bill Clinton is gung ho about the black dal with butter naan!

More Holidays than any other Country - We have a large no. of national holidays thanks to our multicultural and multi-reegious society, and a holiday is given on each religion's prominent festival, besides independence day and republic day.

Colourful festivals - Where could you see festivals like Diwali and Holi - Diwlai the festival of lights and Holi the festival of Colours.

    Ancient Historical Artefacts
    - We have temples and towns dating back to 1000s of years. I've been to a few such temples, and they have very positive aura around them.

Things I dont Like About India
-Corrupt Politicians - If these were not here India would have been a far more developed country.
-REd Tape: The bureaucracy is also corrupt and takes a long time in clearing important projects.
-Millions still living in Poverty, while the rich are getting richer, the villages have been neglected and many farmers have committed suicides
-Female Infanticide: Some small owns, especially in North India, get the female foetuses killed because they think that girls will bring them misery while boys will support them financially and otherwise

people here are more caring, i have heard in countries abroad when a person is sick , the family members stay away and the patient is supposed to stay alone, most family members don't even have time to look after their relatives, if you fall sick in india for sure expect 20-30 relatives, friends to come to meet you and call you up for your health, be around you.

Quite true. And indeed, one positive thing I forgot to mention about India is Spirituality. If West gave us Materialism, India gave Spirituality to the World.

Sri Sri Ravi Shankar's Art of Living has millions of followers worldwide, and so are Sai baba's devotees. You rightly mentioned yoga and meditation

Even the martial art Karate originated in India.

I believe that majority of webmasters in DP are Indians. Well I think you might add another thing...

Majority of female indians are beautiful, I like their unique beauty and charm.
Indians are nice, and I respect them because of that quality.

By the way I am a Filipino, still proud of our country. I just give an insight about India and I hope I can come to that place soon. :p
