Does any one know if Google Seacrch Algorithm prefers certain domain extension over others.
I mean when ranking websites does google prefers .com domain names over new domain extension such as .xyz, club. and others.

for example does google gives more value for websitebackup.com than websitebackup.xyz provided that the content is the same.

Note, some region specific extensions are general in relation to SEO. One example would be .io.
