I am having a question related to SEO and content of a website. Suppose there was a website long back which has enormous amount of content. Now the website is no more and it is been years since it shut of. But some of the content of that website can still be useful to users.
I want to know is there a point in having that content on a new website or is it better to start fresh ?

I'd start fresh and give updated versions of the data.
I'd be incredibly surprised if any of it didn't warrant an edit.

So it is always better to give a new start ?
I was thinking that it will have less effort though

    Easy is not always better

If the site has been down for years then you don't have to worry about the dupe penalty (IMO) but you do have quality issues.

According to my point of view you should start new with new fresh content which will helpful for your website ranking through different search engines.
