I need the suggestion regarding the URL redirection; I want to Permanent redirect the old url to new url when if i used the old url in canonical tag. Any negative impact on my website in Search Engine.
Old URL Sample;
www.example.com/productname-productid.html
New URL Sample;
www.example.com/productname-productattributeid-productid.html

Canonical Tag;
www.example.com/productname-productid.html

I used old url for ranking purpose.
