    Okay.....
I went overboard with the headline, BUT it bares repeating. Junkmail Ads, National Enquiror news paper and Porn sites, all use aggressively effective headlines, that practically mindhacks its readers.
I read a junk mail Ad, I wasn't even interested in, that made me want the product. The Ad was a company selling trees you can plant on your property. Here is a piece of it: "Large Healthy Trees Your Kids Can Climb"
I started imagining the trees I climbed as a kid, and all of a sudden wanted to buy and plant one for my kids.

You could also read headline swipe files over and over, and you'll start to notice how creative your headlines are becoming.

Well your title did make me click! :)

Interesting topic, care to share some more examples of titles you've found to be so effective?

I'm glad you clicked the headline. I made it up on the fly.

Obviously there are millions of effective headlines. As far as ones that work.....way too many.

But how do you feel about these?

That's talent right there. You should make money with that.

Trying to reverse engineer the recipe here. It has to be a new discovery, or should I say revelation, one that's too good to be true, something under the radar that you're lucky to have found it. Once you put a person in that state of mind you can sell them anything.

Even I click the titles on Taboola and such networks, even though I know that stuff isn't really usable. But it's usually an interesting read.

    Thank you.
I agree! Most people know advertising is usually fabricated to a certain degree, so as long as the topic is relevant a curiosity provoking headline, they'll read it.

I pulled those sample headlines out of my hat as well, for practice. Which one popped out the most in your opinion?

Me too! But kinda only cos I wanted to argue about how "wickedly forbidden" a headline can really be.

Honestly, I kind of think these headlines would usually be considered clickbait. And as such would not really recommend using them (some sites/engines penalize their use, I think Facebook does, at least, maybe even Google). Even though they might work, to an extent, with some audiences.

Personally, I hate these kinds of headlines and would not mind if they were to disappear from the net completely (but don't take it personally, Awakener, I can still appreciate your talent in spinning them up). Also, making every word start with a capital letter just makes me think of snake-oil salesmen and thus pushes me away from such websites and ads :D

I agree with you ITRob. If you use these types of headlines, and cannot back them up with your product or service, or whatever the headline is meant to convey, then yes, it would be considered clickbait.

Unfortunately, boring lackluster headlines get no attention. People need power phrases and words to get them emotional, and eager to take action. The barrage of advertisements people are bombarded with, causes a marketer to have to become skillfull and creative with using descriptive language to get people interested.

People are usually ok will a little exaggerarion, simply because that's how most of us talk in normal conversations anyway. We exagerrate more than we think, it's just that most don't care to point it out.

I see your point and I do agree that there is so much content that it's difficult for anyone to pick out what matters.

Still, personally, this method puts me off. I am not naive enough to think that it doesn't attract my attention on some subconscious level, but when I see a headline like these, I am generally at least a bit suspicious. I know this might not be true for everyone (otherwise it would not work at all). But for a marketer, I guess this is something to be aware of.

    Just my two cents :)
