I want to add a article to my site on a weekly basis. Does anyone think it would be worth getting a content management program, i was just going to add them with Dreamweaver. Thanks
if you have an article or news type site then its better to use a cms; it will make your life easy though in start you will have to learn the CMS itself and you may feel some restrictions as well but using CMS make it easier to update a site regularly; As i am using Joomla on two of my sites and found it successful for me so i would recomend Joomla for you as well; But if your site is blog like then Word Press is the best as WP is easy to understand and work with
If you would like to add a article to your site on weekly basis, i don't think cms help. Content management system ( such as joomla, mambo ) is specially created to help webmasters. Example, if you have 1000 users/members and each of them would like to add 1 article to your site on weekly basis, you can't add them with dreamweaver one by one, in this case, content management system is a must.
Would you recommend Wordpress for very small sites i.e. a few dozen pages of static content with occasional updates?
another vote for joomla wordpress is not bad either if your site is small... there are lot of paid ones as well if you are interested like phpcow and newsphp and http://www.vivvo.net/ very intersting
i would personally had gone for Joomla. As i am using Joomla for one of my site which has not many pages (just about 70) and i have to update that occasionally (usually weekly). So as i would suggest to use WP or Joomla which ever suits you!
