Google Image Search Results, What's Going On ?

    Hi guys!

I've noticed that lately, well almost 10 months already that Google search results for images is very awkward. I don't know basically how to rank well in Google images but honestly, from the results most of the blogs that ranked in the first until 10th row is spammy sites.

Those sites aren't even host the images at their hosting, they just grab and copy-paste to their single post and viola.. they have the best rank and the blog with the original image is not even ranked at all.

What is wrong with google image results and no matter what I do to optimize the image seo (alt, description, caption) the results are still the same. Auto-generated content blogs (images) always win. Is it the domain age, PA, DA take control for the image ranking as well ?

Has anyone dealing the same problems ?

    Cheers!

I don't know exactly about this, but I never had this issue. Have you checked this issue in different niches? I hope so it's not the case everywhere. Besides, there are a million factors that play an immensely important role, as you've described earlier - domain age, content type, viewership, and etc. I agree that Google is strict, but we can't say that they're totally fools and don't know about this issue. The best thing you can do is to try to search in different niches. Have you checked the recent celebrity photos? Do a simple search and see whether those celebrity pics are from the credible websites or not.

With proper Alt tags for the images, we can rank better i think. As per to my knowledge google is little kind on image results, compared to the organic results.

Here one thing i completely agree with you that the domain age, PA and DA. Yes it matters. But you also follow some rules here to bring your image on google image section.

In my case, when I use an image for any of my post, I must checked those things-

My image is unique or not. I go to google image section click to the camera icon and upload my image. If Google shows some similar image then I change this image and use another one.

Do image rename. It’s very important. We often do like best_mountain_bike.jpg but this is not the right way. First, use your main keyword in your image and then rename it properly like best-mountain-bike.jpg, always use (-) dash for image renaming.

Now it’s time to upload your image on your post. Title text and alt text is must. Always put your keywords in title text and remember one thing, you should use the same name/keyword which you use to rename the image like “best-mountain-bike.jpg” but this time not the same format. Only use normal keywords like “best mountain bike”. Main point is both name should be same.

Caption is a part where you can put your image, so don’t loss the opportunity. Put you keywords here too.

Doing all this, share your article as much as possible at social networks and it possible shares your image in Pinterest too.

I think you could see some better result.

    Thanks for all the replies!
Yes I have done all of the fundamental things for rank in google images, but I think because the domain name is fresh so Google would trust another domain with aged with good PA and DA
