hello, i have a problem and need your help. i want to create an app(android) and need some images. my question is where i can get free images for my app.need your help.tq.
You can do a search on Google for images with licenses that allow them to be used for free, or you can see if you can find some images at some of the stock-photo websites that are free to use (some have them as well). However, if you're gonna make an app, you might want to consider buying the images you need, with the proper license to use it in something that will probably generate income. Image-licenses can be complicated, and if you mess up, you can suddenly find yourself owing people a lot of money.
Most sites have royalty free images, but you have to buy them first. Why would you want the same few free images that everyone else has in your app. That is why i told you to buy. Dont be so cheap. Do you want your app to look unique or not?
Trying to save money is not being "cheap", it is being smart. If he wanted to know where to buy cheap he would have posted a different thread topic. He asked for help, not for someone trying to change his decision.
I consider that too be fraud, misleading, misrepresenting.... how can you say "royalty free" and have to buy/purchase in the same sentence? In essence, it is not free... pexels.com (they have free/quality images..) (no login required to download either...) I use pixaby.com and pexels.com all the time to create videos using images...
royalty free means you use as much as you want and anywhere once you own it... in essence you are just paying the guy to take the picture once if it had a royalty fee, you would pay per use
When creating an app for android, image/s must be unique and customized as well as not been used anywhere in the web. It doesn't mean its free its always the right choice.
Another option is to use Flickr.com. Just be sure to follow the rules for each creative commons license. Sometimes you need to give proper attribution, while others are in the public domain. Just follow the rules. Sometimes free is not always better. If you're looking for *almost* free images, photodune sells smaller images for a buck. I have purchased dozens of these.
SXC.hu (now FreeImages.com ) is an excellent resource for royalty free stock photography and illustrations.
I made an ebook and bought the image for the cover, just to stay out of copyright problems, you can find some free websites with pictures uploaded by people to use free, but you never know if they are copied from another place.
