    Hello Every one

I was wondering when it comes to choosing a domain name for your business, what should be the approach for keeping the domain name in your mind? a keyword? business name? or both? if we choose both the domain name gets LTD, long tail domain... so what to do?

    * Is it easily pronounceable ?
    * Is it short enough ?
    * What about the availability of other domain extensions? If the main extensions like com/net/org/local version is registered you should be concerned about that
    * Keep in mind already existing brands/products, don't try to copy them or include their names
    * Is it easily memorable ?
    * Better avoid dashes and numbers
    * Don't be too specific,i mean something which includes a specific year or place, what if you would have to expand your business to some other places?
    * Consider SEO, any keywords related to your business included in the domain ?

There's basically two types of domain names: branded and keyword names. Which one you should go with will depend on your project.

It really depends and boils down to one's preference but I will share my opinion.

When I'm putting up a blog, I use the keywords that I am targeting for which will also help define what my website is all about just by looking at the domain name.

When it comes to business, I use the business name. Although it would be very difficult to brand your business name but worth it if you will succeed.

I agree as well. If going with your business name, try and include a keyword in there as well.

Brave for a cat to come into a thread with a dog :p

To answer your question, it doesn't matter. What matters is that the keyword is in the domain name :)

Always use a .com as the end even though your business do not locate in the US. I am finding a .com has more exposure to the world than if you have a .com.au when my business locates in Australia

The best domain is the right one that bring effectiveness to your business. So you should research very carefully and deeply about the market, the business in order to choose the best domain for you. Normally, people are tending to remember domains that are short, memorable and easy to spell.

If your website is in specific markets, you should also choose the domain related to your brand or products. You can choose the name base on the keywords people tend to search or products that people are usually easy to remember and pronounce. In the future, the domain keywords also help you to improve quickly in SEO strategies.
