Just in case you have missed dictionary definition above

    du·pli·cate
    adjective
    adjective: duplicate
    'd(y)o?opl?k?t/

    1.
exactly like something else, especially through having been copied.
"a duplicate license is issued to replace a valid license which has been lost"
synonyms: matching, identical, twin, corresponding, equivalent
    "duplicate keys"
    2.
having two corresponding or identical parts.
    "a duplicate application form"
    Code (markup):
LOL, Am I lucky or what?
    I got only 1 point...

OK, can you or at least Shawn tell us what is the rational behind that useless rule?
If to cut amount of posts... oh boy, I can show you a few millions of them that must
be gone and specially these which permitted lately in past year or two.

This is what happened when people in this forum have nothing better to do but
to attack everyone? What else there is to do in "slow" forum and specially when
you have nothing to contribute, provide sensible reply, help with advice and in forum
for no other reason but to attack like some pack of wild animals some poor member
who has dare to disturb "peace and tranquility" and to ask "stupid" question.

    Example @Spoiltdiva
Surely she could come up with explanation why starting new thread is bad idea, but...
she have no idea herself, so she have sucked up "topic" for discussion "@sarahk"
even thou I... and I repeat never use "sarahk" in my posts.

If you have meant 'sarah', then this is not the same as "@sarahk" not to mention that
I call every Mod in this forum including Shawn 'sarah' for the same reason I call so called
"SEO Pros" from India Kumar, easy to remember but most of all, because I simply don't
know who have gave me infraction.

As I can see while I spent 10 days enjoying summer, you were busy to attack me...
which reminds me... I have to try to play accordion.

    :)

This is ridiculous, I get that you're upset and you don't like the rules but this thread isn't going to change them.
    • Duplicate thread in S&A = promoting the same directory
    • All of the rules have evolved out of necessity. We see problems, we try to find low impact ways to resolve them. We don't intend to piss anyone off.
    • If you find other duplicate threads in the forum we'd appreciate it if you could report them, we can't read every thread let alone test every thread for dupes, we rely on the forum community.
    • My name is not a proxy for "all moderators", stop being lazy. As for calling all Indians "Kumar", I'm speechless at your arrogance.

Please don't twisting what I have said.
Not "all Indians" but specific group of so called "SEO Pros"
which is proportionally 95% or more of SEO forums.

Doing it with even one Indian when it's not his or her name is appalling. Doing it to a group doesn't make it any better.

Ah, but what if the real name is Kumar?

And what about people are calling guys on horses "cowboys", or military man
    "soldier" is that appalling too?
After all that 'cowboy or soldier' have name or even two like Billy Joe Johnson.

Your argumentation is completely idiotic. Naming a person by profession is not the same as giving all people within a group or community the same derogatory designation, ie. a "name" that doesn't belong to the person(s) in question.

If you can't see that that it isn't the same thing calling a person riding on a horse a "cowboy" and a person of Indian origins "Kumar" just because you're too lazy to either use their nick, or figure out what their acutal name is, then I doubt you have much to contribute in this forum. I doubt you have much to contribute regardless, really, since you haven't had ONE useful post since you came back.

Read again who is addressed and if you have nothing to say but to play
naive, here is again, let me spell it for you v-e-r-y-s-l-o-w-l-y "SEO Pros"
whereas "Pros" stands for "Professional" and because I don't know and
frankly don't care where they are from, I call spamming forums dickheads
who are claiming to be "SEO Professional" whatever comes to my mind.

If you don't like it... see if I care

If you called the people claiming to be SEO Professionals "SEO Pros" that would be fine as that is a label they accept. However from your text I gathered you were calling them "Kumar". That might be acceptable in your cultural circles, I don't know much about Canada.

My opinions were formed long ago in a Pimlico petrol station where I was doing some training after a big fitout project. My students for the day were a couple of really nice young men from Sri Lanka. I don't remember their names but they were tricky and I'm sure I mangled them but I tried. Because it was a central London site the big bosses from Shell popped down to say Hello and check out work that had been done. The staff were introduced and one of the Shell bosses said "that's too hard, I'm going to call you Pete". These days they'd probably call it "white privilege" but I stood there absolutely gobsmacked and the poor man just had to smile and be polite.

As long as we are not automatically mad at something like that in the name of some political correctness.

A few years back we were doing an inner city ministry in Columbus, OH and I introduced myself to one lady who happened to be African American. My first name is not your typical Steve, so when she heard it, she was like "Whaaaa? Is it a nickname or something?" And she started to laugh. I just laughed with her and left it at that. I don't think she ever tried to say my name again that day.

I can share countless examples where my first and last names were totally butchered. The truth is some names ARE too hard to say outside of their native countries. For a North American to try to pronounce some Asian, Eastern European or Russian names can be really awkward, almost painful.

Actually, to have a native English speaker without any foreign language knowledge saying anything in a different language is horrible... ;)

My name, with a scandinavian Ø... is impossible. Which I personally cannot understand, since they do have the sound in some words in their language - it's just not possible for them to make that sound in the start of a name, it seems.

This is exactly what I'm saying.
You're avoiding to discuss topic so you're discussing words said.
So, Sarah, Kumar... whatever you say...duh

That is why in Canada when we have problems to remember or pronounce names,
we're using to greet others with something like: Hey Canuck, howudoin', eh?

    :)

I've dealt with the topic, what I don't understand is what you expect will happen now.
