    hi guys

i have a targeted list with 100k+ members, i currently maintaining some small lists (free)with mailchimp ,its totally great.but for huge lists i feel it may be the right choice(from price point of vew) ,kindly suggest your best choice in maintaining huge lists, that automanage bouncing etc etc so we can just concentrate on list development and content.

    thanks!!

Sendy plus Amazon SES works extremely well as long as you keep your spam complaints way down and don't use any deceptive practices.

Use mandrill to send and hold the emails in your own database and build the management tools you actually need.
    Works for me

this seems a great budget solution for the volumes am planning ( 500k emails/month). However i want to ask you do we have features/convenience like "rss to email" automation templates with SES?
How good is bouncing management with amazon SES?

Sarah , Mandrill seems now merged with mailchimp, so is its expensive for huge list management.

Not at all, we're paying the minimum amount and just sending through their api.

We have zero subscribers because we manage them ourselves and we get unlimited emails.

It has great bounce control and spam control. Not sure on the RSS though.

We don't send them in blocks of 1500

You pay for the number of subscribers in your account. We don't have any.
Our subscribers are held in out CRM and we email as required. All subscribe/unsubscribe functionality is handled by our CRM.

    Generally you pay for handholding.
If you can't manage your subscriber lists you have to pay someone else (eg mailchimp) to do it for you.
If you can't manage your own mail server you pay someone else (eg mailchimp) to do it for you.

In our case we don't need to pay for the subscriber management but we do for the mail server. We probably end up paying more than the mailchimp fees in CRM development but we end up with a utility that has the flexibility and power we need.

You need to find your balance between what you can DIY and what you are prepared to pay.
