I usually don't recommend such free techniques for getting traffic, but I thought that some people might find this interesting nonetheless to give it a try. I don't know how many of you already know about this, but I thought I'd mention https://www.stormpay.com/stormhits/ where you can sign up and browse other ads (it switches to a new ad every 20 seconds). Then it credits you roughly 1 credit or so each time, which it then uses to place your ad/website for 20 seconds on another person's browser who is viewing the same ad sequence. If you have this up throughout the day, that's potentially over 4,000 free hits a day to your website. Even though I think some of the sites are spammy and most people probably don't pay much attention to it, if you have a REALLY catchy website or ad (and can handle the extra hits), it might be worth checking out. I don't think this is the best way for free traffic, but I thought that some people might be interested in checking it out nonetheless. I once played around with it just to see how it would work and actually got a sale or two from it, but there are definitely way better methods out there that aren't too much harder. Brian
Your idea, while creative, suggests something that wored many many years ago. It was never good for any real traffic, and is nothing but a tool to inflate your stats. Stick to targeted traffic.
The problem with all programs like this is that the quality of the traffic you get in return is of a very very low quality. Sure you might get a sale/action from it, but that means you'll have to get loads and loads of traffic. IMHO the time could be much better spent on promoting the site in other ways.
These types of traffic exchanges have been around for quite a few years. One of the problems with them among others is that 99% of the people using them are fellow marketers trying to sell their program to other marketers. Therefore you're not likely to sell anything to them unless it's something unique that can help them in their business.
Even if it does bring 4000 hits in one day, those 4000 links are as good as zero hits. IT P.S.: Dudy, you might want to fix that caps lock key IT
Hi, The traffic generated thru this is not the targetted one. This traffic may be useful for adsense whereas not for on-topic ones. However, thanks for the info.
If you have adsense on a page, and that page receives traffic from a traffic exchange program like this, you will soon find you get a warning email from the adsense team, they don't like 'poor' traffic going to websites with their code on.
I Agree, however you might have better luck if what your selling/promoting is aimed at other webmasters.
Wonder where they get traffic for traffic programs nowadays.. i remember back in 2000 people actually used them but today... the traffic is even more crap.
