What does a YouTube backlink do for your site in terms of boosting domain authority? I am not sure if I should just keep creating content, or start backlinking existing content, and since I found a decent source for videos, then my first thought was get a batch of videos, then upload them to YT for a backlink. Thanks
YouTube links are "NoFollow" so they won't do much in terms of boosting your domain authority. YouTube is GREAT for traffic but for SEO you are better off finding Quality DoFollow from websites that are in your niche.
Its a good thing to have nofollow links too, anyways its no harm. If you have more number of viewers or some interesting videos on youtube, then those eyeballs would surely be eager to visit your youtube channel or your website, this is the only advantage you would have from youtube.
It's good to diversity your backlink profiles. And of course, having links from YouTube videos better than not.
Extend your resources. If you need to create content and video at the same time then do it. Getting backlink from a relevant quality niche site (any) will surely boost your domain authority. But if you are able to target your audience and attract engagement to your site then it'll also help.
It'll send you traffic. The links on youtube if placed first in the description can send you on average 0.5% of your video's traffic, can be even less about 0.3%. I'm speaking out of experience, with more than 500K subscribers across 3 channels. It takes time and effort to get up there but it's worth it if you're branding a website.
