BTW page rank we see on google toolbar and different page rank checkers is outdated (few months old per info from Google)

It's really strange. I am getting back links like crazy on MSN, but Google is snobbing my site. I'm on DMOZ, I'm on many other interesting sites. Google comes crawling my site almost everyday, if not everdsay, but 0 PR, 0 backlinks nothing! This is preventing me from getting some positions on certain keywords.
I see you at #12 in google.com for Melyssa Ford so you aren't far from being on the first page. Yahoo only displays 27 backlinks for your site and says that the rest of the links are omitted because they are very similar. You might want to look at the quality of your backlinks (other than dmoz) and whether your backlink profile is diverse.
It's wierd that every other posting on all of the Webmaster and SEO sites give way varying degrees of importance for PR. Does anyone know anything definite?
I launched www.videospud.com the middle of June, 2006 and received a PR5. I wasn't expecting such a high PR in just a few months, but I'm not complaining. Google has been updating their datacenters for a few weeks now, does it usually take this long for all the servers to get updated? Does Google update PR at random times or do they have a schedule?
My site jumped from 4->5 on ticketnest.com with "concert" page as PR-6. Another "experimental" site, jumped from 0->6(graphicdog.com)...don't know why. 24hourcontact.com maintained PR-7 even though I expected it to go to PR-8 with all the links I had got it. Oh well...it's all in good fun..
Pretty much irrelevant, my highest traffic website is a Pr3, and some of my pr5/6 websites don't even get 30 uniques /day.... (this is ofcourse comparing traffic from serps)
please suggest me, is page rank still important factor to rank my website well in Google? my website is viralcoo.com (newly created website). I've started to build high pr backlinks.
