Do you translate your site into multiple languages?

I'm working on a site that contains my memoir/journal that is currently in English, but I thought, "Wouldn't it be great to get this translated into Spanish, German, Hindi, French, etc." My text is 40,000 words.

    Is this wise?

Yes I have in the past if it made sense to do so. I translated an English site into Spanish.

Yes it was worth the cost of translating the content. It made sense to do so because a product was created specifically for the Spanish market.

Thanks for your reply. I have one more question... Did you create a new site with the Spanish content or use a subdomain or simply created a different category?

You're welcome. I didn't use a subdomain. For SEO purposes, I think it's better to use subfolders.

No, I think search engine allows your pages to be translated based on the readers choice.

most of the languages still needs improvement in translation techniques. google it self declared that they are putting more and more efforts in level of translation.

so i strongly suggest you that, try the google translator for couple of posts and check the accuracy, if you feel it good then you can have a try...
