Hi, I have a little budget that I want to spend online on promotion and I'm seeking for advice. What should I follow? PPC and calculate a ROI or organic SEO ? I'm really confused, I did some research on Internet and I found some results here and here .. but nothing clear and nothing real! Anyone that tried this kind of experience, kindly share some details about budgets and niches.
SEO take some times to give you result and traffic coming from SEO is for long term. While PPC is quite expensive and it will give you instant result. If you have limited Budget for PPC than go with Bing ads.
Solid advice from iwebsocial. PPC is instant traffic but it will take time to optimize keywords to get profitable. Too often people think they can just put up an add and make money. In almost all cases you will loose money starting out with PPC but if you have a product in demand people will buy it and you just have to work on getting profitable. SEO can definetly pay off big in the long run. It should be part of your plan even if you dive into PPC off the bat. I would work on guest posting and setting up social signals to your website. This can all be done for free while you work on the PPC campaign. I would not worry about linking back to your site with keyword anchor text. I'd just use the naked url to link back to your main website from your social profiles.
With PPC you have full control over your traffic. SEO is a hit or miss for most! Not sure about you but I run a business and I want full control over it. yes I do seo but only as a benefit. I surely do not rely on it because the carpet can get pulled out on you overnight!
It's technically like buying tires and rims before having the car, you need SEO and keyword analysis to set out a good PPC. SEO takes some times to take effect but is fundamental to a website these days. Word on your keywords and see the traffic to your site through various channels, then you can decide on the right PPc for your website.
I you want to use PPC will be more comfortable for you, but you will spent a lot of money. If you use SEO, you will have a lot of work to do, but your budget will be ok. Now it's your choice: if you need to have a lot of visitors in a short time, but to spent money, use PPC; if you want to have natural traffic, for a long time...use SEO. It's only my opinion. Good luck.
I think you should do both, as long as the money you spent on PPC less than the money you are earned from the site, then it is still profitable business. I knew people are spending $500 / day on PPC in order to earn $700/ day then happy to cash out $200 every single day, no SEO , no backlink building.
It all depends on how you use each really. Personally I'd use both but for different targeted traffic. For the PPC I would target the "Buy Now" part of the market. That way when people click your ads they know they can "Buy Now". For SEO I would be more likely to target the people looking for a good source of options and information on the product they want to buy. Then offer links to the better prices or options with my affiliate link in it.(hidden of course so it isn't so obvious I am there to sell something) It's all a trade off. No 1 choice is really better than the rest, it's all in how you use it.
It does really depend on your business. If you are doing PPC then given the recent changes, then you should focus on being in the top 4 in Google. I agree with the option on Bing if you have done the research on keywords.
Hi theprince I agree 100% with jerdei. Now I am myself doing an experiment or a case study where I am promoting stuff as an affiliate having my blog as the center of all my traffic efforts. So I will initialy drive free traffic (I am not an expert though) so the revenue from that traffic can pay for traffic. Now putting that aside you need to know that whenever you plan to start using ppc you have to focus more on the EPC than the CPC. Let me explain: EPC stands for EARNINGS PER CLICK whereas CPC stands for COST PER CLICK (I am sure you already knew that one) Now many people focus their attention in getting very low CPC which is good but depending on the niche you're on or the keywords you're trying to rank for sometimes getting low CPC is impossible. But if you manage to get your EPC higher than your CPC then no matter how high your CPC are you'll always be in profits. So for example: - If you get 1000 clicks at $1 each that means that you paid $1000 for those 1000 clicks. - Now let's say that out those 1000 clicks you manage to make 20 sales at $75 commission per sale. - That means that you're getting $1500 in total commissions. - So if you divide $1500 total commission into the 1000 total clicks you know that you are getting $1.50 EPC so at the end your EPC is higher than you CPC by $0.50 so you're in profits. What if we take the same example and change it a little bit: - If you get 1000 clicks at $0,30 each that means that you paid $300, very good right? - Now let's say that out of those 1000 clicks you get 30 sales (50% more than the previous example) but at $9 commission per sale which is very common. - That means that you're getting $270 in total commissions. - So if we do the math again and divide $270 total commissions into 1000 total clicks we're getting $0.27 EPC so at the end your EPC is lower than your CPC which places you on the losing side. As you can see eventhough you can get very low CPC you really need to focuse on getting you EPC higher than the CPC all the time. And what can influence the EPC? well many factors and some of them are: - Landing page. - Message to market match. - Strong funnel. - Strong email campaign. - Quality of the product or service that you're selling. - Commissions per sale. - Etc. I apologize for the long post. I wish you the best
I would also suggest to do SEO first and then spend on PPC which will improve your traffic to a great extent along with instant results. Both these things should go hand in hand!
I am concerned about this issue, people or process suggestions, I'd love to learn, This article useful for me, it help me understand clearly about PPC &SEO! thanks
It rather depends upon the kind of site you have. If it doesn't have much content, then PPC advertising is the way I'd choose. If your site is one where you promote more than one product and there's a detailed description (content) of each product you are promoting, then you should think long-term and optimise your content for organic (free traffic). The other thing to consider is if the products/services you are promoting are in demand.
ive just started doing some ppc, i am aware that you need to burn some money before being profitable, testing as well of course, but im not sure if this is a silly question or not, but what sort of money are we looking at burning before seeing some results, i guess it depends on each case right?
Both SEO and PPC are part of Search Engine Marketing (SEM) which is one of the tools you can use as part of your overall Internet Marketing campaign.
