Ok guys, I am raring to go to start applying what I have learned in the courses. Starting from the top with URL's, from what I understand the HOME page url should only contain the domain name but each other page should have www.Yourdomain.com/targetkeyword is that right? If yes, so I would need to use only one best kw for each page's service but how long should that kw be please?
Yes – The home page will just be the URL and each other page should have your target keyword within it just like in your example. There are different opinions on whether or not you can include multiple keywords (as long as they fit naturally). Personally I think it is fine if you are looking for long term rankings of your site…If you’re just looking for a quick rank increase for a specific keyword then I would stick to just one keyword. The length of the keyword can be pretty much as long as you want within reason. Typically I’d say 5-6 words is as long as you want to go, shorter is generally going to be better.
Every site pages within the site must target different but still related keyword phrases and this is to expand the influence of the website as well as reaching its target audience in the web.
When possible contain your exact target keyword or phrase in your URL. This is usually hard to do on your home page, but it should be easy on your sub pages or blog articles.
I follow this guideline. If you maintain this you can create a user-friendly URL Use words in URLs Avoid lengthy URLs and generic URLs like page1.html Avoid keyword stuffing like: /seo-guide-seo-help-seo-lesson.html
for example" do you mean a url like paintersbahamas.com or is this stuffing??/ can u be specific like if im a painter in Las Vegas and really trying to get best SEO out of my somain or is that ??? lmk
Sorry for being late. No, It's not stuffing. I want to explain my example Avoid keyword stuffing like: /seo-guide-seo-help-seo-lesson.html . Their he/she used SEO three times only for SEO keyword its stuffing. I think as per my knowledge URL should be seo-guide seo-help seo-lesson then extension.I think clear now.
>how long should that kw be please? For general purposes having 3-4 words per keyword phrase is specific and general enough. You don't want too much of either. You want to be specific enough to dominate the competition in organic search results, but general enough to cover the widest range of keywords your target audience may use. For example if you sell cars, having a page with only the word 'cars' is too general, 'honda cars' is also too general for most people to compete with. 'chicago honda cars' - maybe 'used chicago honda cars' - maybe 'purple used chicago honda cars' - no, too specific Double check traffic levels for each keyword phrase using Google keyword tool and other free tools. Then check competition to see if top ranking results have perfect on-page SEO or not. If good traffic levels and competition not optimized then you found your ideal keyword phrase to target. Spent 10 minutes typing this and probably no one will read this, but whatever.
