This has worked for me in many different niches, it has to be tested of course for each site against current CTR. (btw, increasing your CTR will increase the CPC as well). 1. Put a video in your content (find something that is related of course to your content as interesting as possible, the longer the better), between the top of your page and the middle, above the fold 2. Please wide banner ads above and below the video Here is what is happening: A. People love videos, they stay and watch it (specially if it is interesting) B. With a video in contrary to "text" they are not scrolling, so the ad is there infront of them all the time C. Here is the interesting part: Even if the video is interesting people are not patient (cultural thing, we are used to do many things at the same time, we are used to short and quick videos, etc.), at some point a psychological conflict arises: on one hand I enjoy the video, on the other hand I want to go away, I feel uncomfortable and need someone to "rescue" me, and here it is: an ad! No matter if you "buy" or not the above points, try it and in most cases it will make your desktop CTR (hence earning) higher. On mobile the story is a bit different, since there in many devices the video is played as full screen and hides the ads, it requires a bit different tweaking. Let me know how it worked for you
sometimes they dont stay on the video area. if they are boring with the video, usually finish reading the articles, then the ads on the bottom will be their travelling next.
