I have spent the last two weeks setting my new project on mediatemple grid servers up until all their problems and downtimes made me leave them. So next stop was liqiuidweb VPS. sounds good and seems to be decent for 50$. Anyway their server set up is terrible and I'm a newbie with Apache and couldnt fix some stuff myself. Their response time was usually a day so now I'm leaving them as well. I got headache from reading the whole day about exim and apache docs and people sign up for my new project but don't get any confirmation emails because the php mail function is not working. Well I'm sooo tired of all this sh*t and just would like to know any decent place where I can get a decent VPS and excellent quick support. This drives me crazy. Why are so many hosts soooooo bad? Anyway. Any suggestion where I should go next would be great.
you can get decent deals at ifasthosting. opt for managed support. you can probably find some coupons at the WHT offers section. Ron, the owner is online for most of the time and helps customers personally if required. but as always, its your choice and I'm not affiliated with ifasthosting
Go to A Small Orange. I just did that because I can no longer tolerate being treated by so-called tech support as a moron who must have done something wrong to cause the problem because (of course) there's no way the problem could be on their end...
yeah thanks sounds good. i love when some support people point me to the knowledge base i already read a couple of times.
I signed up with them two days ago. I have to say they have responded to my sometimes very basic questions (my first venture into VPS) very promptly, very politely, and very helpfully. If this is a reflection of their usual support, I can tell you that I am going to be highly recommending A Small Orange.
I've had the exact same experience. Very fast response to very basic question. I had an answer in 5 minutes, which is pretty good. Matt
