Local SEO is still the number one for local businesses: kitchen and bath remodelers, hair salons, IT companies.

    Who agrees with me?

    Second best is Facebook.

I've always thought Craigslist and AdWords are your best bet when it comes to local ads.

Local seo is the best. I agree. Much cheaper than Adwords and a way better ROI. In Canada Craigslist isn't that active.

Kijiji is and it can be okay for local business but everyone is looking for a rock bottom deal. Hard to compete in such a slashed down market and do a professional job.

yeah people on craigslist/kijiji always haggle and try to get lowest price. I turn down people that do that to me. I hate it. don't you agree?

I forgot to mention backpage. Backpage used to be ad-happy at one point and didn't care if you post 3 or 300 ads for the same thing, it was all good. Not anymore. Still, it's undoubtedly one of the best sources of traffic out there.

Local SEO is really the best. Depending on what area you live in, you can place your website at the top of SERPs without too much work. Add in some social media stuff and *puff* you`re the best in town

It really depends on what your business is and where people may look to find you.

But for local you want to make sure you are set up with.

    Facebook Business page
    Google Map listing
    Google plus
    Yelp
    City Search
    Yellow Book

I would start with this list as these are the main locations that people use to find things local to them

Yes I agree. It's a huge pain. In some markets it still can be worthwhile. You just got to factor in the cheapskates and weed them out before you meet them.

You took the words out of my mouth. I was going to say local search and seo as well as PPC!
