I have a project of writing unique product descriptions for 100 similar products. Each product is a particular type of shirt, but they are all different beyond just size/color. The product descriptions should be 300 words each. So, 100 products * 300 words = 30,000 words. How much should I expect to pay for 30,000 words? Also, what would a reasonable turn around time be? Would you recommend hiring multiple writers and breaking the work down? Looking forward to your suggestions!
First of all, pass it to only one person who have his own team of writers. Price will be around 275 to 280$ max. It will take min. 10 days.
$1/100 words is cheap, I know many on here would disagree as that seems to be the going rate at the moment. Consider what the writer does for this money and the time it takes to write a good description, is $1/100 enough? This could equate to just $10/hour for a fast typist (less if they are slower!). Writing 100 unique descriptions for an almost identical product is not going to be easy, but they should all be unique so you are not penalized by the search engines. Then consider what that description does for your website, how much you make each time you sell a shirt, how much traffic you will get and how long those descriptions will be making you money! Good original content is often considered priceless, unfortunately many clients do not see the benefits of a good writer! Using more than one writer is a choice only you can make, but for consistency across the website a single writer is the best option, this would also help to prevent any duplicate content issues.
Its depends on quality of content. I think not more then 500$ but not less then 350&. So its up to you. Writing is an art, if someone working hard for you, then its your responsibility to pay him / her a handome amount for his work.
Great price you have there. I would have recommended around $500-600 for that amount of quality content, but I believe you've had it better than expected.
