    Yahoo answers are a great way to get traffic on your site it will not help in backlinks because is a no follow site, So it wouldn't help with ranking.

    You will get SEO benefit. If you are driving targeted traffic to an article on your site. This means more visitors. If you are getting more visitors on a page, then lets says an article ranking above you. You will be nudged up the serp. In my experience, more traffic=more traffic! Even though they are no follow links.

    Yahoo Answers would automatically turn any back link into a no-follow back link.
    Would it give value to your website? Yes and No. Yes, your website would have more online presence / publicity (means you would increase your organic traffic from there) , provided it is mentioned under a relevant topic. No, your website would not benefit from no-follow back link. But I have heard from my colleagues and from Matt Cutts that it is good to have both do-follow and no-follow back links gradually, because it shows the website has been gaining its popularity organically.
