HELP - This guy is MESSING up my forum

I have a phpbb forum www.forexonlinelearning.com/forums

This guy keeps creating usernames and flooding the forum with porn and meds - I delete his name, but he keeps comming back!

How do I stop this???

How Do I get his IP and do I just put his IP in the "Ban IP" part of the PHPbb forum admin??

I am very new to this if you can't tell

 

doesn't phpbb have mods to deter these types of attacks?
the forum software has been around so long you would think they would. in your admin panel there must be a place to ban user names and ip numbers.

if there isn't, then maybe converting to a forum package that offers these features so you can go on and enjoy what you have created instead of having to worry about some sick bastard who has nothing better to do then post pics of his sister getting banged by a horse.

 

You can ban ip from cpanel if you have moreover i recommend you turning on Image verification and email verification..

We have phpBB forum as well and we have the image verification turned on and we update our ban list daily, but we still have many porn posts each day. Are there any other tricks that we can use to keep these posts off our site?

 

If your forums arent big then i recommend you either migrating to SMF or if you can afford vbulletin then purchase it

not too mention all the 'open source' themes, and 'open source' mods. i'll convert that pos phpbb for ya, real cheap. god i hate phpbb.

 

Yes, sawz..I hate phpbb aswell..It really sucks and it seems and phpbb forums are html based ...SMF is alot better.Even if they make it paid like 30$ per copy.I would purchase smf license

You're really have to learn your forum software . Anyhoo, whenever someone posts they leave their IP. You can see a poster's IP by clicking on the little IP icon in his post (near the edit/delete options).

You might also want to check phpbb.com's forums for spam busting tips.

 

For a phpbb board I highley recommend:

1. Turn on image verification from the admin panel

(users have to put in a captcha code when they register)

2. Turn on email verification from the admin panel

(users have to verify their email address by clicking on a link sent to them before they are allowed to post, this stops most spam bots since most user bogus emails )

3. Install the following much needed mods from phpbb.com
(if you can't install it have someone install it for you)

a. limit the amount of posts a person can make in a minute
(not sure the name, but it's all at phpbb.com)

b. disable registration for open proxies
(scripts checks to see if the user is using a proxy then disables access)

c. check out phpbb.com for other security mods. since phpbb is open source and has been around for a while you will find just the mod you need at their site. and if you are not too familiar with coding and installing mods you might want to do a search for easymod on phpbb.
