lolz, u know what i'm thinking? May be he is just trying to advertise his site. Most likely to avoid being thought as a spammer
Hilarious. What a moron. How would someone even "remove their site from google" for a specific search term? This guy obviously does not know much. I am very curious as to the keyword he was refering to.
I found that phb story from the infoworld "off the record" column: http://www.infoworld.com/article/06/10/10/42OPrecord_1.html Code (markup): I searched for 'tool manufacturing in Oregon', and it couldn't find it. I couldn't even find ore-t's webpage at all!
They could use this I suppose. But who in their right mind would? http://services.google.com/urlconsole/controller I created a spreadsheet on google docs which contains most of the related keywords for www.deanhunt.com pulled from google's adwords keywordtool: http://spreadsheets.google.com/pub?key=pL7_j5QbTw-4IPsIuXVdRLA Code (markup): If anyone else is dying of curiosity like me and wants to be added as collaborator, just pm me here or email me at justgold79 at gmail dot com
Hi guys. Just letting you know that I have not received any more e-mails from him. These past 10 days have been crazy, and I am considering writing a FREE report about my experience. Things like: *How much traffic I got *What got more traffic: Digg, Slashdot or Reddit? *My Alexa ranking *Speaking with Matt Cutss *What I have learned about Viral marketing *How viral marketing can make you millions of dollars with zero budget. The report would be a case study of my experience, and there will be some tips in it as well. I would love to hear if you think it is worth my time writing this FREE report? also, if you have any questions about the campaign or viral marketing, then PM me with your questions and I will try and answer them in the report. Thanks
Would be great to see a good summary of the entire experience. I for one am looking forward to reading it! (You can make it viral again by requiring us to refer 2 others before we can download the free report )
I don't mean to come across as rude or anything, but the whole thing was a little bit by luck rather than any work on your part. You published an email, it made us smile and the ball got rolling, (thanks to a few diggs i think). That's all the 'report' will contain. I am not sure how you are then going to teach us how to "How viral marketing can make you millions of dollars with zero budget" Either that or the whole thing was a lie. And in that case, yes, you might have a report to write. FFMG
It's a report. A report is just an outline of a chain of events. I don't think he's claiming to teach us anything. He experienced something interesting over the course of a few weeks, summarizes it in a report so we can take the best parts of his experience. Thats it. That's the beauty of reading books and other people's experiences in general. You get to learn from it in far less time than it took them to learn it. Take it or leave it sort of thing. So what it fell straight in his lap. Still interesting what he experienced, the stats and the conclusions.
Thanks for the replies. TOPS30 is correct. I am not aiming to sound like a guru on viral marketing, I am just sharing my experience. Since this whole experience I have been doing a lot of research and reading into viral marketing, so I will put a few tips and suggestions in the report as well. But all tips will be related to actual events that have happened to me.
Hi again. Thankyou all for your feedback. I have decided that I will definately be writing the report (It is NOT a guide/how to), and it will be free. If you are interested in reading it then there is more info here: Viral case study
That guy should just get a higher pr not harrasing someone to get their site listed higher than theirs. *wow*
