Which 3D software as well as render engine do you think is the best for creating realistic Interior and exterior renders? I myself like Cinema4D together with VRAY. Best Regards, Richard TheRatRaceChallenge
I use 3ds Max with Vray for the past 8 years and I like it very much. I tried Maya, Mudbox and Cinema 4d, still i like 3ds max.
For archviz, most artists use 3dsmax + vray, although corona is gaining popularity in recent months. They also offer a free version you can use for commercial projects.
For me "4D=Autodesk 3D > Autodesk Maya" Autodesk Maya Features: There are four distinct camps in the model-building universe: polygon, subdivision, NURBS and sculpting. Each modeling style comes with pros and cons. (NURBS, for example, uses Bezier curves to create meshes, which are ideal for simulating mechanical parts and smooth surfaces. Unfortunately, they are also harder to manipulate and have a reputation for not playing nice when building organic characters.) Maya supports all four methods, which really opens doors for expert modelers. You can select the methodology that best fits the needs of each creation on an individual basis. Autodesk 3D Features: This 3D modeling software is primarily based around polygon modeling. You can create a wide array of primitives, including cubes, cones, pyramids and teapots, to serve as bases for your models. 3ds Max supports subdivision surfaces as well, which makes your models look smoother. Like our other top-rated software options, 3ds Max comes with many different editing tools for manipulating your models. We especially like the Soft Selection tool, which allows you to grab vertex clouds and tug on them without creating unwanted geometry in your mesh – everything stays smooth. Cinema 4D Features: The first thing you need to know about CINEMA 4D is that it comes in four flavors: Prime, Broadcast, Visualize and Studio. If you are just starting out, we recommend Prime. It has a narrower feature set, (lacking soft body, cloth, hair and spline dynamics, among other things), but it is much easier to work with for that very reason. When you have achieved a basic competency, you can always upgrade.
Anyone here have tried Blender? I know it can handle impressive things, just not sure if this for this kind of work. About 3D for Architecture, I have seen many people using Trimble (Formely Google) Sketch-up as a modeling tool and then V-Ray for rendering.
Blender is competent just like any other 3D software for 3D visualisations. It is really good nowadays.
I agree! Any software has flaws and advantages over others. Even so, I believe that the user is the one who makes the difference. Still have to use Blender more, as I'm just learning to use it, but I`m sure I would be able to do the same as when using 3Dmax.
I have to agree with the most of opinions and say that 3Ds Max and Vray are the best. Even Without Vray you can achieve quite good results just using Mental Ray renderer with Max.
