Contest Curtain business logo - 2 prizes - AU$25 and AU$15 - Instant payment via Paypal

Hello DPers, another competition from me. This one is for a curtain and blinds business.

The business is called P r o f i c i e n t C u r t a i n s a n d B l i n d s (spaced to avoid search engines).

The client is not sure what he's after, he has just taken over the business and doesn't like the existing logo (see image).


When pressed, he said possibly something to do with the P, maybe looking like a curtain or a blind?

Please use your imagination, something that can be used on his web site, his letterheads, invoices and the like.

I am offering 2 prizes, 1 of AU$25 and $AU$15 - total of AU$40, to be paid via Paypal instant payments.

As usual, the winner will hand over the rights to their design to the contest owner once payment has been made.

The 1st and the 2nd best design will win the contest, not just the best design. My clients do not usually use the second design but oftentimes you designers work very hard on your logos and I appreciate the efforts when I see somebody has worked hard to win. Depending on the amount we charge our client, sometimes I have 3 prizes or chuck in a bonus.

@krisdude - thanks for submitting something original but I can't say I like it personally. I will present it to the client and see what he thinks.

@Sobbi - nice & simple, apart from the curtains being spelled wrong it looks good.

@cosmin90 - here's some feedback from the client. Yours was the 2nd entry I sent the client but he says the 3rd one. From his feedback though (square instead of round) I think he means yours. I will clarify this by tomorrow.

"Thanks for the logos, I think the one I like is the third one.

But could you please change the font of the word ‘proficient’

as well as make the bottom corners of the blind around the words ‘blinds and curtains’ square instead of round.

Not sure about the colours could you please send some different colour options as well so I can see which one I like best"

@cosmin90 Thanks for the revision, the client asked for square corners on the bottom of the blinds too so I have taken the liberty to do this to your design as i'm about to send him the latest entries. I'll get you to do that on the original if he chooses your design.

@julia87 - thanks for submitting a valid entry. The blind effect looks good though maybe the middle bar should slope a little to the left on the right hand side? Looks slightly off to me. Anyway, leave it for now. Let's see what the client thinks about it.

@puttu - thanks for submitting your design. The P logo is a little too much like a P plate on a car (ours are green) which sort of says they're a learner. The word proficient on the other hand suggests they're really good at their job so the P plate gives me the opposite idea. This is my feedback only. I'll be submitting today's new entries to the client tomorrow to get his feedback.
