How much were you making when you first started your website? And how much are you making now? How long did it get you to get your first check?
Most people don't make much in the first few months. On my first blog I was making a couple of pounds per week. It was strange, on my 6 month my Adsense clicks increase dramatically, got my first check after 6 months.
Where does most of your traffic come from, is it search engine or social media or what? How many pages do you have?
This was my first blog, sadly it is no longer around. The majority of my traffic was coming from search engines. I had a huge list of posts on the blog with most of the traffic to my blog was hitting blogposts first rather than my homepage.
This was a few years ago, unfortunately I no longer had the time to dedicate to it, I was working full time and studying in my evenings. Saying that ive just started up a new blog and im starting a degree next week whilst working 40 hours a week. Good luck me Although at the time I was running my first blog I was working a 55 hour week and studying an hour each night, 62 hours a week I was knackered lol I do regret not keeping it around, but an experience I will learn from.
You're focused on the wrong topic. Like putting the cart before the horse. Most people who do this and too focused on money never make it online. You should be focusing on building a viable long term website. Creating great content consistently, getting traffic then lastly monetizing.
I agree, earning and income from a website comes as a result from concentrating on the content and marketing. If you concentrate on the money side first your content will suffer. Good Content = Income
I made my first money from adsense promoting Firefox with Google toolbar. $1 per install. Back then it was easy to convince people to use a different browser. It didnt take long before I got my first pay )
LOL - I guess it depends on what you call doing well. For me, when I was doing $600 a day , that was good $100 a day sucks ........
