Why is HDFC bank deducting AMB charges?

    They are continuously deducting AMB charges from last two months from my account.
    Whats that charge for???
    Any help...

    what is AMB? I am also using HDFC for long time and I don't see any AMB charge.

    amb = average monthly balance.

    account holders need to maintain a minimum amb or pay charges.

    I think HDFC needs Rs 10,000 to be maintained as a minimum balance. Is that your account goes less than 10,000 INR ?

    AMB (average monthly balance) is the monthly average of closing balance of every day. It means you do not actually have to maintain 10,000 everyday but the average of all days of the month should be 10,000

    If Its april 30 days so I can maintain 0 balance for 29 days and have 300000 for 1 day?

    Hello everyone... On feb 2014 Rs 4600 has been deducted from my account by HDFC... I spoke hdfc customer care/HDFC banking ombudsman/hdfc branch manager (adambakkam - chennai ) on this issue.. They refused to refund the deducted money and they asked me to close this account and open a fresh salary account to avoid further AMB charges.HDFC Branch manager of adambakkam ( a lady) said that we cannot refund the deducted money , you can go and complaint to wherever/whoever u want. There is no chance of refund.


    Finally i reached honorable RBI BANKING OMBUDSMAN () and filed a complaint against HDFC... RBI slapped HDFC and The entire amount has been reversed to my account ... I request you all to complaint about this white collar thieves (HDFC BANK) to RBI....

    Finally reached RBI BANKING OMBUDSMAN ( ) and amount has been reversed to my account.



    Legal route

    If you are not happy with the settlement offered by the ombudsman, you can file an appeal before the appellate authority within 30 days. The appellate authority in this case is the deputy governor of the RBI. Alternatively, you can approach consumer redressal forums, which take up bank-related complaints, or even the courts.

    NEVER LOOSE YOUR HARDLY EARNED MONEY TO THIS WHITE COLLAR THIEVES

    HDFC is the worst bank i have ever used. I am using icici and axis now both are good. But In icici they charge some fees for 3rd party cash deposit which sucks..
    Better use banks like IDBI or ING vyasa

    i too having a HDFC bank account and i maintain 6000rs bal every time. but i have never seen this type of AMb debuts on my account. try to contact your branch.
