why google is showing my site's home page on search results instead of products pages? sitemap added .. all pages are indexed. no duplicate content. have disavow low backlinks. no notification on webmaster tool. any suggestion what do i do ?
It depends on the ranking wight of the homepage vs the product pages. Probably the homepage has backlinks and the rest don't and it's a new site? PM me the site and I'll let you know if I see anything that can help.
no, site is not new. Yes, home page have backlinks more than other pages. please check inbox for site url.
Because Google find it relative to the user's query. If it is on the top most result, then why worry?
because it is increasing bounce rate and i believe that if google will pick products pages for results. my site will become more prominent on search results.
Your homepage must be favoured for those keywords over your product pages for *whatever reason*, it could be a multitude of things. You need to further optimize the product pages and make them "better" than the homepage for those keywords. How much content is on your product pages compared to your home page? How many uses of the keyword? H1 tags? How is your site structure, are product pages in a logical place in the website hierarchy? etc.etc.etc. There are so many potential reasons for this, and without seeing the site, none of us can really provide a definitive answer!
pages are more favored than home page. Yes, it seems i have to further optimized products pages but there are hundreds of products page so it is difficult task to optimize all pages. products are listed with images like a normal shopping cart. There is one H1 tags on an each product. all products pages are in a logical place. please check inbox for site url. thanks
Seems there is no other way except optimizing other pages. Google thinks that they are less relevant. Your task is to prove him it is wrong ;-)
Personally, I think the main problem stems from the fact your product pages don't have anywhere near as many backlinks as the homepage does, each product page has used the keyword a lot of times so Google might see that as spam, but by far the biggest issue is that each product page's content is pretty much 99% the same as the rest. Meta Titles & Descriptions are all also very similar to each other too and have excessive uses of the keywords, so this may also be classed as duplicate content and keyword stuffing in Google's eyes. Technically the website seems ok, website architecture seems fine, robots.txt and sitemaps are in place, so there is definitely potential here. You also have to keep in mind that you have a lot of competition in your sector against websites that have been around for a long time. There's no single thing you can do, you just have to keep optimizing and keep getting (natural) links to your product pages. Make sure you write UNIQUE content for every product page to please the Panda. It's very likely you have already been penalized by it. Hopefully more people can weigh in but I think that's the crux of it. Good luck!
Yes, i think same too. home page has much back links as compare to products pages. Yes, use the same content 60% duplicate on all pages but if google see that as spam so google must give manual spam action notification on webmaster tool. Yes, have a lot of competition in sector. i worked alot to compete other sites but unfortunately something went wrong. finally i came to the point that home page has lot of backlinks that's why google is showing it on search results. hope natural backlinks for products pages will help to recover site ranking.
If you want to see your specific product page on the search results it will require established page which means you need to build your site page reputation from the target audience by providing them what they need and expectations as well as the benefits from the product.
