is it legal to sell an email list?

    Nope, it is not legal.. all the companies who acquired these email addresses had mentioned privacy policy but they still sell the list.

    It's not illegal to sell an email list. If that were true, why are there well over 100 legitimate companies in North American alone that sell email lists? It’s not illegal to buy an email list and develop an email campaign specifically for your cold business contacts. But it’s important to educate yourself on the details of the applicable legislations. CAN-SPAM (USA) and CASL (Canada) are legislations that regulate commercial emails sent to cold business contacts. They do not ban, outlaw, restrict or prohibit purchasing an email list –they are guidelines to be followed when connecting with a cold email list.

    What business/website/blog you should run to get 200 million emails? I would not buy. Unless you could prove it is legal and can show me it is alive

    If you start reading the laws, it'll take more than 20 years.
    Illegal is just 2 years of sentence! So, better do it!

    it means that if you own a website and people signup their and you got their email addresses that email you can sale and if you use software and steal people's database that is illegal
