Did Google penalize a website for using popads?

hello friends,

One of my clients website got deindexed by google for using popads

they imposed Manual Action in google webmasters saying the website uses cloaking and sneaky redirects..


So popads cannot be used in any website .. if u wanna stay clean to google?

 

Thats new, and you are the first one to claim it. Are you sure you are not using plugrush mobile redirect?

no not at all no plugrush whatsoever

only popads and juicyads banner

this happens especially in mobile it will not take you to the page link that u clicked but instead to some ads thats what google is talking about.. in desktop u wont have much issue... but in mobile?

but strange thing is there are loads of big names out there who do use popups and they existing for years

My partner has popads all over his adult sites and so far no problem it yet, but I know google do the punishment in batch

 

Its more likely the banners doing the redirect. My site was penalized in chrome for using some cpm banners

 

well google lifted the ban and client added popads code again.. now if google bans again then its for popads

and if it doesn't ban then it was for juicyads mobile code

 

can you tel me when your client got message on Manual Action in google webmasters what is date and what is in manual action message from google end and what your friend did only remove juicyads and then apply again ? and when google lifted ban ? can you paste screenshot of google webmasters manual action page ?

 

Well google applied ban on 8-8-15

at that time client was using some redirect plugin.. so he thought .. for that reason google applied cloaking and sneaky redirect.. so he removed it and submit for reconsideration..

google replied on 12-8-15.. that site still violates google webmaster guidelines

then client removed popads code and juicyads mobile code and submit for second reconsideration request

and just few hours ago he checked and sees that google lifted ban and sent message

PopAds & sneaky redirects?!!!
I am using their ads (3 years); it is impossible, they are clean.

First of all, I would like to say thank you to all the members who believe in PopAds!

Regarding the issue - it is the very first report we have received like that.
Our adcode can only open popups/popunders or new tabs. However, we have recently discovered that some advertisers are actively exploiting something that I believe is a bug in all mobile browsers as well as in most popular desktop browsers. The bug allows hijacking of the publisher website from within the tab/popup/popunder that our adcode opened (despite same origin restrictions of JavaScript).
At this moment, as far as I know, all adnetworks in the industry are affected, however the exploit is not being used on a large scale.
Was this reason of the problem with Google? I do not know, but if it was caused by PopAds, that is the only reason I can think of.

Now some good news. We've been working on this problem for a while and we have a networkwide solution that will protect publishers websites from being redirected. We are doing some final tests now and hopefully it will be pushed to production today/tomorrow.

 

no google are not personalize the website which are using popup ads .

 

well my client and myself also have faith in popads and no problem with payments whatsoever and conversions

but after seeing that manual action.. which happened he got confused what caused the issue

what i feel is google nowadays check if a website is loading fine in mobile or not regardless off that in desktop

and as mentioned above google is strictly against sneaky redirects which many ad codes is causing ..like plugrush for example and i suspect juicy ads mobile code.. after adding that code when u try to load website in mobile it redirects u to ad instead of opening the website..

but when using popads such kind of things dont happen.. so lets hope google sees it that way too

 

The case of Plugrush are up since 2013 and up to now. Seems they accept the thruth that google dont love their mobile redirects.

As for JuicyAds, there are only times, not always.

I hope popads dont fallow, I have high hopes of TomKSoft

In that another forum, seems like the issue was caused by plugrush.

 

We have just rolled out emergency patch to our adcode to block the exploit I mentioned above.

 

In January 2012, Google rolled out a new Top Heavy Update(“Page Layout” Algorithm), in this Pages With Too Many Ads Above The Fold Now Penalized By Google. But
Sites using pop-ups, pop-unders or overlay ads are not impacted by this. It only applies to static ads in fixed positions on pages themselves.
